We've covered Hasbro's MARVEL Super Hero Mashers here on the site for well over a year now, going back to when they first launched. For the uninitiated, Hasbro's Hero Mashers line has been a runaway hit - moving beyond just "Super" Heroes, and into the realms of TRANSFORMERS, JURASSIC PARK and STAR WARS (and you can combine ALL OF THEM). It was a new play pattern (that's since been copied by other toymakers) that taps into kids' natural instinct to pull their figures apart and make their own, original, "Frankenstein" creations. Thing is, back in the day, that would equal a lot of broken toys. Not anymore. When I was working on Hasbro's #SummerOfMarvel promotion not long ago, the last thing we received was something I'd saved for my annual Holiday Wish Guide - the MARVEL Super Hero Mashers Ultimate Avengers Set. This 22-piece collection is fine starting off point, or a great addition to any kid's existing collection, offering little Avengers the opportunity to build a new hero from a variety of familiar pieces.

MARVEL's ANT-MAN may have just hit theater screens today, but thanks to a just-revealed box set, it is confirmed that Scott Lang and the #Antourage will definitely be home for the holidays. This Fall (date TBA), the MARVEL Cinematic Universe: Phase 2 Collection will come to Amazon as an exclusive 13-disc boxed set, with all six films from the Phase 2 MARVEL lineup packed inside a replica Power Gem. There will also be a "Top Secret Bonus Disc," exclusive additional bonus memorabilia and more packed into the $250 companion to the 2012 MARVEL Cinematic Universe: Phase 1 release. Here's what you'll get...

Toys are about to enter a whole new realm, and according to Disney Consumer Products (DCP), that new "evolution of play" will be PLAYMATION - "where digital gets physical and imagination becomes real." This new system of toys and wearables will be launching this Fall, using smart technology to "inspire kids to run around and use their imaginations, as they become the hero or heroine of stories from across The Walt Disney Company." Playmation will launch with MARVEL's AVENGERS, with STAR WARS to follow in 2016, and sets based Walt Disney Animation Studios' FROZEN slated for 2017. If that plan says anything, it's that Disney and Hasbro are expecting this to be BIG.

If the past few months have taught us anything, it's that people are really enjoying "unboxing" videos, and hence we have our Rock Father TV Original Series UNBOXED. This time we're doing things a little bit different, however, presenting a special #PlayLikeHasbro Edition under UNBOXED + PLAY, which is exactly what it sounds like: some raw play footage following the Unboxing. In this episode, The Rock Daughters check out the Playskool Heroes JURASSIC WORLD Tyrannosaurus Rex, the BABY ALIVE Sips 'N Cuddles doll, the TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOTS Boulder the Construction Bot, and finally, the MARVEL Superhero Adventures 4-in-1 AVENGERS Helicarrier. Check it out...

I cover so much MARVEL stuff here on THE ROCK FATHER that some days can feel like I'm just one post away from becoming a Superhero Fan Site... but that's okay, especially with news like this. From AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON comes Beast Kingdom Toys' comes their 1:1 Scale Life-Size HULK BUSTER Statue. This thing weighs over 1,455lbs and requires a lift to move. The price? Just $18,499 through Entertainment Earth, with the actual 1:1 Scale HULK setting you back just $14,999. If Tony Stark's new Banner-busting armor is too steep for you, 1:1 Scale statues of CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, IRON MAN, WAR MACHINE and IRON PATRIOT are available in the more-affordable $7K-$10K range, all shipping in October. Check these out!

News came in yesterday that MARVEL studios has begun principal photography of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, the third installment of the CAPTAIN AMERICA franchise, but a film that just may be even bigger in scope and scale than AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. With the full cast announced, the bar has been raised once more, and the road to AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is going to be absolutely HUGE...
