Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is a favorite here at Rock Father HQ. While his third kid-friendly album MAKE BELIEVERS scored a perfect 5-Star review this past May, the genre-bending rapper has another record out for teens and grownups called MONKEYWRENCH. Simply released under "Agent 23," the album has spawned a new, zombie-riffic music video for the track entitled "Shambles." With nods to George Romero (NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD), Danny Boyle (28 DAYS LATER), Simon Pegg (SHAUN OF THE DEAD), Sam Raimi (THE EVIL DEAD), Michael Jackson's THRILLER, and more - this video should score big among fright fans this Halloween.

They say that "there's no wrong way to eat a REESE'S," and hopefully that's the case, because I've eaten them just about every way possible. In a car... in a bar... in boat... with a goat, they're like Green Eggs and Ham, and I would eat them with Sam I Am. Yes, I'm a sucker for REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups, and it looks like my oldest daughter must've gotten the gene, as she was recently caught using a chair to reach a bag tucked on a high shelf in our refrigerator. Keep in mind, she's 3. My point with this? When it comes to Halloween Candy, nothing hits the spot like REESE'S Peanut Butter Pumpkins.

Growing up, MAD MONSTER PARTY was the stuff of legend for quite a few years. Originally released in 1967, this stop-motion classic from Rankin/Bass was rarely-seen and never seemed to have quite the notoriety of the other Holiday specials (such as RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER) produced by the purveyors of the "Animagic" technique.  Despite a few video releases over the years, it wasn't until it hit DVD in the 2000's that this Halloween special (since repackaged and reissued several times over) really became a staple again.

31 Days of Halloween: Cadbury Screme Egg

When you've got a Holiday-centric product that only sells from New Years until Easter, time becomes fairly limiting. The solution to expansion? Get into other Holidays. Marshmallow Peeps did it, so why not the Cadbury Creme Egg? Well, they did it - and as far as I can tell, the Halloween edition of the popular chocolate egg first appeared in Europe and Canada last year. For 2012, they're here in the 'States as well, though without the marketing push that our neighbors to the North are witnessing.

There's a good reason why I chose to feature that STAR WARS "Darth Vader" Halloween Costume in the header for this article. Long before The Rock Father... I believe I wore that very costume three years in a row - sometimes as an alternate (one costume for trick-or-treating, a different for school, etc.) - though I had Luke Skywalker's green RETURN OF THE JEDI lightsaber instead of the proper red one.

As a kid in the 80s, it was always kind of a thing that when October rolled around, you'd keep your eye out for the new Halloween "specials" that would land on TV just in time for the spooky season. It seemed that every year brought with it a new crop of self-contained stories that took place against a backdrop of fresh fall colors and pumpkin patches peppered with shades of orange and green. Whether it's age or reality, it doesn't seem that there's as many of those "specials" these days, but this year I found a new one that exists only in audio form.
