I'm terrible about getting really involved or engaged in any regular television series at this point. People give me crap about it (never seen an episode of BREAKING BAD or SONS OF ANARCHY, stopped watching AMERICAN HORROR STORY and REVOLUTION after breaks in the series'), and right here we have something from another show that I started, but dropped the ball on... FX's THE AMERICANS. The first season of this drama about some Russian spies setting up shop in the U.S. during the 1980s just hit home video this week, and the folks at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment hit THE ROCK FATHER with a special Public Service Announcement (PSA): Parenting 101. If you follow me on networks like Instagram and Twitter (and like Wooderson said, "it would be cooler if you did"), then you probably already know that I'm digging MEGA BLOKS' Collectors Series Line of CALL OF DUTY building sets. Unlike most of the other MEGA BLOKS products that I often cover here on The Rock Father, these are geared toward "older" kids... like me. Technically, the CALL OF DUTY collection is recommended for ages 10+, but I'm filing them as sets "For Grownups," and having built three of them already: Mountain Recon; Drone Attack; and Chopper Strike (all sent to me for review) - I'm already looking forward to doing more.

Word rolled into Rock Father HQ today that SMILE EMPTY SOUL will follow-up their next run of headline dates by co-headlining the Chemical Free Tour with (HED)p.e. Dates stretch from mid-February into March, with additional dates expected to be added. NEON TREES have set an April 22, 2014 release date for their third album, POP PSYCHOLOGY. The first single, "Sleeping With a Friend" just hit iTunes and can be streamed below, right here on The Rock Father. The new record was recorded throughout 2013 in Cabo San Lucas, Los Angeles, and Provo and was produced and mixed by Tim Pagnotta, who also produced the band's smash hits "Animal" and "Everybody Talks".

Yes, after 28 years of threatening the possibility, GWAR are headed for Japan. The band will bring their unique brand of sonic terror to the resting place of Godzilla on Thursday, March 6 at Club Quattro in Osaka, Japan, and Friday, March 7th at Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo.
