Coming off an epic World Premiere for the film this week, WaterTower Music is making a splash with the release of the AQUAMAN - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. From director James Wan comes a new adventure based on the iconic character from the pages of DC Comics, one that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. Aquaman features an original score by multi-award-winning composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Hotel Rwanda, Hacksaw Ridge), includes a track by composer Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle) and debuts the new songs “Ocean To Ocean” by Pitbull Feat. Rhea (a riff on Toto's oft-covered "Africa"), and the end title song “Everything I Need” by Skylar Grey.
After years of mixed reactions and conflicting opinions between fans and critics, Warner Bros. finds themselves in an interesting spot with their DC Extended Universe of films. Now, as it appears that we're in for a potential switch in cast and tone from our most recent big-screen Batman and Superman, other members of the Justice League are still on-deck with solo films of their own, and Aquaman is next in line. From director James Wan (SAW), AQUAMAN is shaping up to be a very different film from others in its universe - an epic that's bigger than many would've expected from a character that's often been the brunt of jokes across the decades. Yes, he can talk to fish... but Aquaman is looking quite badass, and Warner. Bros is counting on audiences to get behind the character, today issuing an extended, five-minute preview of the film. Check it out below!
There's been a revival of late when it comes to play, with retro being all the rage. Mego is back in Target, the Transformers are taking on their G1 look in Bumblebee and between Super 7 and Funko, the chunky, 5.5" action figures from the era of He-Man and The Masters of the Universe have been making a comeback. For the latter, Funko's Savage World has been a big deal - most recently presenting both Horror Icons and Thundercats in the beefy style. Today things get weird, with the confirmation of some rumors from a few months back as Funko, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have announced the launch of DC Primal Age - a full collection of toys featuring retro-style barbarian fantasy-themed Super Heroes and Super-Villains from the DC universe. The inaugural line will be available for purchase starting October 5, 2018 on Amazon.com through a dedicated DC Primal Age storefront.
