Comic-Con is always BIG, but this year may have been the biggest ever, with fans going crazy for new looks at some hot properties. While rumors had Warner Bros. holding off on SUICIDE SQUAD to focus on BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE - they were wrong... way wrong. In fact, moments after the first teaser for David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD hit the screen in Hall H, nearly the entire cast of the upcoming DC Comics-based film hit the stage to thunderous applause. Unfortunately, the SDCC first-look footage was bootlegged in poor quality (and subsequently NOT posted on this site), and today the folks at Warner Bros. have released a legitimate version. Check out the new teaser now, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine... JUSTICE HAS A BAD SIDE.

According to Director Zack Snyder, the "big rule" he and his team on BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE "broke" was putting Gotham City and Metropolis next to each other. "They're sister cities - it's like Oakland vs. San Francisco," he states. This new dynamic was on display in new footage unveiled as part of an all-new trailer at Comic-Con International by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics, bringing out an appearance by the cast of the film, which hits theaters on March 25, 2016. Check it out below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine!

Every time I write a news item like this, I always feel just a tiny bit bummed that I usually don't have the time to consume and enjoy all of the pop culture I find myself writing about - there's just too much of it! A prime example I hope to read comes this November when IDW Publishing and DC Comics unleash their latest crossover - BATMAN and the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. Now, the idea of the the two existing in the same universe isn't entirely far-fetched, but any potential continuity problems are taken care of by the plot itself, a synopsis for which has just-arrived...

Next year, The CW is getting even more heroic with DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, a new series about a team of time-traveling heroes and villains set in the same world as THE FLASH and ARROW. Now I feel like I have some real catching up to do on those shows ("time" has been a personal enemy to my own viewing) as LEGENDS will bring forth THE ATOM (Former SUPERMAN Brandon Routh), FIRESTORM (Victor Garber), WHITE CANARY (Caity Lotz), HAWKGIRL (Ciara Renee), RIP HUNTER (Arthur Darvill), CAPTAIN COLD (Wentworth Miller) and HEATWAVE (Dominic Purcell). Check out a First-look trailer below...

SUPERGIRLThere's been a lot of buzz about SUPERGIRL of late, and today comes the first-look at six minutes from the new series based on the stories from DC Comics. Airing this Fall on CBS, SUPERGIRL stars Melissa Benoist as the title character - Kara Zor-El, the 24-year-old Kryptonian cousin of Kal-El... aka SUPERMAN. I'm totally digging this, and if I could set the DVR now, I would. Check out the first look preview below.

It's a pretty strange time for movie fans - particularly fans of comic-based films. The past few weeks have seen an extraordinary amount of teasers and reveals from things here (AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON scored the second-biggest U.S. debut ever this weekend) and on the way (BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, FANTASTIC FOUR, ANT-MAN, etc.). After revealing Jared Leto as The Joker  from the currently-lensing SUICIDE SQUAD via twitter last week, filmmaker David Ayer was back with more tweets today, first dropping a look at a nearly-complete cast photo, and then a solo shot of Will Smith masked and ready to rock as Deadshot from the DC Comics-based project. Check these out...
