Vampires. Werewolves. Frankenstein's monsters. Sounds like something I have experience with, but today that explains the inhabitants of a fictional, vibrantly-animated nightclub in "Roll Up," the new video from Los Angeles' FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS. The colorful clip featured adorable plush/stuffed creatures of the night having a fine time from the nightclub to the laundromat and beyond. It's today's entry into 31 Days of Halloween! It was over a year ago that I first featured SOCK PUPPET PARODY here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, and they've kept busy in that time, racking up millions of plays on their send-ups of popular songs. Now comes a very special "Halloween Episode" of the show, and it's a good one, finding the sock puppets taking on the WHITE ZOMBIE classic, "More Human Than Human." Since the album it came from turned 21 this year (Rob Zombie actually performed ASTROCREEP 2000 in its entirety at Riot Fest), it's a track that can be considered timeless at this point. PJ Masks Official AmbassadorGet ready for a PJ MASKS Halloween!

"It had been a night not unlike any other... a band of brave heroes, heading out into the darkness ready to face off against fiendish villains to stop them from messing with your day. Indeed, while millions enjoyed a night full of restful sleep, three children would once again be responsible for saving the day... proving definitively that night time is the right time to fight crime. Amaya becomes Owlette... Connor becomes Catboy... and Greg becomes Gekko... the colorful trio known as the PJ MASKS hitting the streets in search of adventure, while serving-up swift justice to wrongdoers. After leaving HQ and discovering that Night Ninja had gone missing, the PJ Masks would soon find that their biggest foe, that marvel of mechanical mischief, Romeo, had completed his most impressive creation yet, the Growy Uppy Machine - a tool able to turn any child into an adult for a small bit of time. Slowed by Luna Girl's sinister Moths, Gekko and Catboy had their hands full, leaving Owlette to face Romeo alone, after he had tested the Growy Uppy Machine... on himself!"

Nope, you're not having deja vu, though I did say that exact same thing once before. You see, the Halloween season brings with it some perennial favorites, and over the stretch of some years and some past lives, I've had the good fortune to be a part of a few... one of which is PRODUCT OF HATE's UNHOLY MANIPULATOR. Whether you call it a "short film" or a "longform music video," it's a pretty special thing in that it paired the then-unsigned band with HELLRAISER's Ashley Laurence (who'd also appeared in Slipknot's "Snuff") and some big talent behind the camera (see below). And then there's the fact that yours truly handled directing/editing duties. The video gained a life of its own, eventually helping to secure the band a deal with Napalm Records, who issued PRODUCT OF HATE's debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE here in 2016. The video itself was originally released independently in 2012, reissued by Napalm for Halloween 2015, and now I'm featuring it in 31 Days of Halloween here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine once more! Evil monsters... wicked clowns... homages to RESERVOIR DOGS, FARGO, and THE WARRIORS... see it below!

With the return of GHOSTBUSTERS this year (see: yesterday's entry into 31 Days of Halloween), it's not surprising that some similarly-inspired entertainment has come forth, just as it did in the era of the classic Ghostbusters. From NCircle Entertainment comes DINO DAN: TREK'S ADVENTURES - DINOBUSTERS, a new DVD featuring a dinosaur-themed parody of the classic Ghostbusters action. Surprisingly, there's no trailer available, but you can see the full cover art below...
