There's some mischief afoot over at Super Impulse. While numerous super villains have tried and failed repeatedly to craft a "Shrink Ray" as part of their nefarious plans, someone over at Super Impulse has created one, and yes - it works. I first featured their line of World's Smallest toys here on the site as part of my annual Holiday Wish Guide in 2016, but apparently the evil geniuses weren't satisfied at simply shrinking the likes of Fisher-Price classics, Rubik's Cubes and Polaroid Instamatic Cameras. Nope, now they've managed to shrink Hasbro's G.I. Joe (the 60's style 12" "Man of Action") and Mattel's Hot Wheels. Now these classics are small enough to be toys for your toys. They were so proud of their shrinking technology that they had to send me one of each just to brag about how awesome they are. I dig it.

On June 21, Paramount Pictures will bring Michael Bay's latest Cybertronian epic into theaters, with the release of TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT. Now, in the ramp-up to the film, one of the newest Transformers is heading out on a road trip, and you just might be able to meet him in a city near you! Sqweeks is an Autobot that transforms into a Vespa scooter, and before his ego gets too big, you can track him down for a selfie. Here's where the little guy will be in the weeks ahead...

I still can't believe that we're a decade into Paramount Pictures' TRANSFORMERS franchise. For me, it started in an era pre-kids, and because of the first TRANSFORMERS movie, I ended up becoming a part of that history by voicing several characters in a short that aired on the late G4 Attack of the Show (check this IMDb listing for Starscream and scroll down - you'll find me). Now, I'm raising a pair of TRANSFORMERS fans, and judging from the new International Trailer for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT, the latest film from Michael Bay just might be the best in the series - a chapter that completely changes things. It's that time of year again - the time when all the toymakers start rolling out the news on their SDCC Exclusives - the sought-after collectibles that will only be offered at San Diego Comic-Con International this July. Since I don't attend SDCC (I've long-said that I'll avoid it until I have a creative project to promote again... like one of my own comic or film endeavors), I sorta look at these as a bit of "window shopping" from afar. The first reveal here at Rock Father HQ comes from my friends at Hasbro, with a 12" Daredevil Figure from their MARVEL Legends collection. The SDCC Exclusive features impressive detailing, 30 points of articulation, premium packaging with original artwork by Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada. Check it out...

I've owned a lot of NERF blasters over the years, and right now we have an arsenal of decent size here at Rock Father HQ. Still, I can't think of a time when I've specifically looked at a NERF blaster and thought: "that is beautiful." That changed today, when my friends at Hasbro sent over details on their NERF Rival Star Wars Battlefront Apollo XV-700 Blaster and Face Mask Set. The special edition Mandalorian set will be available exclusively at Gamestop this spring, and comes decked-out in a full Boba Fett color scheme, ripped straight from EA's STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT!

Lucasfilm's STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is one of the most anticipated films of 2017, and a welcome return to where we last saw Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and Luke Skywalker at the end of 2015's STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Launching on Force Friday II - September 1, 2017 - and rolling out well into the winter months, a new collection of STAR WARS toys based on THE LAST JEDI will hit retail, and while countless licensees will be in on the action, here at THE ROCK FATHER Magazine we're presenting a series of STAR WARS Checklists, this one focusing primarily on Hasbro's classic 3¾" action figures, vehicles and playsets (carrying on the tradition that Kenner started 40 years ago)- along with the ever-popular "Black Series" of collector-focused 6" figures and accessories. If you'd like to keep track of what's available or coming soon from these lines, this is the place to be!
