In Short: After five films, TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT closes the book on a decade on cinematic adventures from Michael Bay and Co., but blasts a door wide open for more Autobots & Decepticons yet to come...

It's been ten years since Michael Bay launched TRANSFORMERS into the live-action realm, his Steven Spielberg-produced 2007 epic arriving in theaters more than two decades after the animated classic, TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE hit theater screens back in 1986. As a kid who grew up on the original series and Hasbro toys that started with 1984's "Generation One," my excitement for Bay's film series was a given - and for the past decade I've been there, capping it off by attending the U.S. premiere of TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT, the fifth film in the series, and what's being touted as "The Final Chapter" for Bay's run on the franchise.

When I think of the toys of my childhood, there's a few that have pretty legendary status. There was a time when some of the best playsets were made of little more than cardboard, and because of that, not many of them survived. One such playset was one of my favorites - the G.I. Joe Cobra Missle Command Headquarters. Originally offered as a Sears exclusive back in 1982, this was one of the first G.I. Joe playsets that I had, and I played with it until it fell apart. While I still have the figures that came with it, the set is a memory (I might have some Super 8mm film of it), but now it's all coming back. Next month, Hasbro will issue a reproduction of that playset as an SDCC exclusive, complete with modern figures. Check this out...

There's some mischief afoot over at Super Impulse. While numerous super villains have tried and failed repeatedly to craft a "Shrink Ray" as part of their nefarious plans, someone over at Super Impulse has created one, and yes - it works. I first featured their line of World's Smallest toys here on the site as part of my annual Holiday Wish Guide in 2016, but apparently the evil geniuses weren't satisfied at simply shrinking the likes of Fisher-Price classics, Rubik's Cubes and Polaroid Instamatic Cameras. Nope, now they've managed to shrink Hasbro's G.I. Joe (the 60's style 12" "Man of Action") and Mattel's Hot Wheels. Now these classics are small enough to be toys for your toys. They were so proud of their shrinking technology that they had to send me one of each just to brag about how awesome they are. I dig it.

On June 21, Paramount Pictures will bring Michael Bay's latest Cybertronian epic into theaters, with the release of TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT. Now, in the ramp-up to the film, one of the newest Transformers is heading out on a road trip, and you just might be able to meet him in a city near you! Sqweeks is an Autobot that transforms into a Vespa scooter, and before his ego gets too big, you can track him down for a selfie. Here's where the little guy will be in the weeks ahead...

I still can't believe that we're a decade into Paramount Pictures' TRANSFORMERS franchise. For me, it started in an era pre-kids, and because of the first TRANSFORMERS movie, I ended up becoming a part of that history by voicing several characters in a short that aired on the late G4 Attack of the Show (check this IMDb listing for Starscream and scroll down - you'll find me). Now, I'm raising a pair of TRANSFORMERS fans, and judging from the new International Trailer for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT, the latest film from Michael Bay just might be the best in the series - a chapter that completely changes things. Check it out...
