I always like to include some GHOSTBUSTERS action in my annual 31 Days of Halloween, but while we await any real news of GHOSTBUSTERS III, we're sort of in an off-year. You see, it's next year that's the biggie... when GHOSTBUSTERS celebrates 30 Years of Spectral Removal and Storage. In the meantime, we could flashback to 2012 when I featured both HOOBASTANK and MELO-M rocking uniquely different versions of Ray Parker Jr's Huey Lewis and the News-inspired theme song, or I could just drop-in a link to MISTAH F.A.B.'s GHOSTBUSTERS-sampling "Ghost Ride It" video... but we won't (even though I just did). Instead, let's take a quick look at a few new 30th Anniversary GHOSTBUSTERS Minimates that are coming next spring from Diamond Select Toys. It's Day 20 already...

001 smallAs of this writing, I have mentioned KNIGHT RIDER in no less than 20 of the 1,804 articles that currently reside here on The Rock Father. I love introducing my children to the things that I grew up on, and KNIGHT RIDER is a prime example. My four-year-old is all about K.I.T.T. and Michael Knight, and she knows K.A.R.R., too. As in, the "Knight Automated Roving Robot," or "the original prototype of the car of the future"... K.I.T.T.'s evil twin predecessor. We have the 1:64 scale K.A.R.R. that Mattel recently released as a part of their Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Series, but now there's something a little big bigger on the way... a 1:15 talking K.A.R.R. from the evil wizards at Diamond Select Toys as a perfect companion to their 1:15 scale K.I.T.T. and forthcoming SUPER PURSUIT MODE model. Due in April 2014, K.A.R.R. just went up for pre-order via my affiliate, Entertainment Earth. Check out some early specs below...

While gamers eagerly await the arrival of the XBOX ONE and PLAYSTATION 4 next month, Chicago-based River West Brands is taking the DeLorean back to 1982 for inspiration, and relaunching a classic: ColecoVision. The owners of Coleco Holdings have partnered with AtGames to bring classic ColecoVision games to mobile, online, and retail. AtGames plans to add ColecoVision to it's classic console lineup that includes the Atari Flashback and Sega Genesis Classic as well.

Back when I was a kid, STAR WARS was my main thing for a great many years. I was DARTH VADER for Halloween three years running ('82-'84 maybe?), and my collection of Kenner STAR WARS toys was impressive. While my original collection was sold somewhere around 1988 (which still sucks), I do have one of the vintage 3 3/4 inch Stormtroopers among a small collection that I've re-acquired and have displayed in my office. But for those that want something about 19.2 times larger, the crew at Gentle Giant have the answer... with a life-sized, 6' version of the original action figure. Weird? Yes. But we're talking about a life-size version of a toy that was a miniature version of something that was life-size. Check this out...

Bachmann TrainsWhether you want to hear it or not, the Holiday Season is fast-approaching, and that's something I'm dealing with daily as I'm already assembling some seasonal coverage to appear on The Rock Father in the months ahead. Toy Trains have long been a classic staple of the Season, and this year, the folks at Bachmann Trains have teamed with Menards to offer an Exclusive Mountain Master HO Scale Ready-to-Run Train Set geared toward collectors and steam engine railfans. They hit The Rock Father with full details, all of which can be viewed below.

First off: I was not aware that Disney Interactive and Capcom had released DUCKTALES: REMASTERED (a modern re-do of the old NES game), and I'm saddened that I'm just finding out about it now, but glad to have gained this knowledge. Second: Disney emailed me last night with a link to the OH MY DISNEY blog, on which they've revealed a collection of DuckTales-inspired posters from the folks at Mondo (who always make great stuff). The kicker? They'll be going on-sale sometime TODAY (August 28, 2013), so if you want one, you have to act fast. Mondo posters tend to sell-out ridiculously fast. Check out some of the posters and some DuckTales: Remastered Videos below...
