It's no secret that we love Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the whole PEANUTS Gang here at Rock Father HQ. Much of the appeal for me has been the music of the Vince Guaraldi Trio, with Guaraldi's music fast-becoming just as iconic as the creations of Charles M. Schulz, and for many (likely myself included), a first introduction to jazz. Last year, Concord Music Group released PEANUTS GREATEST HITS as a remastered collection of some of the most memorable compositions, and now for 2016 it's been re-issued for the first-time ever as a Vinyl LP Picture Disc. This new record features Charlie Brown's face on Side A, with Lucy van Pelt adorning Side B, available now under the Fantasy Records imprint. Would you like to win a copy? THE PEANUTS MOVIE (reviewed here) was one of our favorite movies of this past year, and after an early release on DigitalHD, it's coming home on Blu-ray and DVD on March 8th. With Easter fast-approaching, I can't help thinking that THE PEANUTS MOVIE would make a great Easter Basket Filler, and with that in mind, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving readers a shot at winning the Walmart-Exclusive Limited-Edition Gift Set. The special bundle includes THE PEANUTS MOVIE on Blu-ray Combo Pack, alongside a Snoopy Plush Toy!
THE PEANUTS MOVIE was one of the highlights of 2015, in our household ranking in the Top Five of the year, right alongside STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, INSIDE OUT and JURASSIC WORLD. With the film coming home on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD (pre-order) this March, families will no doubt be taking another look at some of the tie-in merchandise that started hitting retailers during the theatrical run. Among THE PEANUTS MOVIE toys that were released is a full line of PEANUTS Lite Brix by Cra-Z-Art, including the Flying Ace Snoopy set, which we received for review. This 89-piece building set includes mini figures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy & Woodstock, and allows kids to build a light-up replica of Snoopy's famous doghouse, complete with a miniature backyard setting.
When it comes to the Holiday season, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS is one of the most iconic seasonal specials - one that's a tradition here at Rock Father HQ, just as it is for millions of families around the world. This year, the folks at Just Play are bringing some of that magic into the toy aisles with a Deluxe Set of PEANUTS Holiday Figures, arriving in stores this November, following the theatrical release of THE PEANUTS MOVIE. This eight-piece set features Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, two versions of Snoopy (one that includes Woodstock!), a Christmas Tree and a Snowman. The PEANUTS Holiday Figures Deluxe Set is a featured pick in my 2015 Holiday Wish Guide here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine!
When it comes to being fashionable, Snoopy's always been a pretty dapper guy. As "Joe Cool," he certainly captured that rugged leading man type of vibe - but the beagle has been known to rock a tux, or the runway, from time to time. What a lot of people don't know is that Snoopy's sister, Belle, is a world-famous fashionista, and that together their "Snoopy and Belle in Fashion" line has been a Global hit that's led to a touring fashion show with some of the World's top designers. As a PEANUTS Worldwide Brand Ambassador, I'm pleased to give readers a shot at winning a stylish prize pack that includes a ladies t-shirt (size medium only), tote bag and makeup bag. Ready for your chance?
Before the word "Snoop" went hand-in-hand with the D-O Double-G, there was simply Snoopy - a loveable beagle created by Charles M. Schulz way back in 1950. While we knew the first year that the dog hit the scene, it wasn't until the late 1960s that we knew that Snoopy's birthday was actually August 10th. While he'd be 65 years old in human years, Snoopy turns 273 today (according to the Dog Years Converter) and he looks absolutely fabulous as we look forward to the release of THE PEANUTS MOVIE from 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios on November 6th. With celebrations taking place around the 'net, here's a few of the best...
