James Zahn is not a journalist, nor a blogger, though he may be credited as such by others, or even accept the title... depending on the circumstance. Creatively, James has directed/edited music videos, lyric videos, and album trailers for bands such as FEAR FACTORY, has appeared as an actor in feature films and commercials, written comic books, and performed in bands. If you've been on the internet at any point within the past few days (from looking at you now, I'd assume you have), chances are you've run across a viral video for DollarShaveClub.com touting that their blades are ''F***ing Great.'' While I can't vouch for their blades just yet, I can say that their advertising really is ''F***ing Great.'' But there's more to it.
If you're one of the folks that snagged a pair of NIKE's 2011 MAG shoes last year, there's a good chance that you'd like a MATTEL Hoverboard to go with them. After making a splash on the 'net a couple of months ago when word of the impending Hoverboard release got out, the hot pink skate deck is now up for pre-order. Just as NIKE copped out with the whole ''self-lacing'' feature in stating that ''the technology doesn't arrive until 2015,'' MATTEL is is stating that their non-hovering Hoverboard will only ''glide on most flat surfaces'' due to the technology not being available just yet. So what does a non-hovering Hoverboard cost?
My daughter loves most of the shows put out by UK-based HIT Entertainment, and currently aired here in the U.S. on SPROUT. There's FIREMAN SAM, BOB THE BUILDER, ANGELINA BALLERINA, BARNEY, and the big-money machine - THOMAS & FRIENDS. Today comes news that toymaker MATTEL has purchased HIT Entertainment for $680M (less than it was going for) rescuing the company from a vast amount of debt (and probably mis-management).
As the father of a 2½-year-old that loves watching Sprout, the adventures of THOMAS AND FRIENDS are viewed on a pretty frequent basis. I've become familiar with the differences in animation and narration between seasons, the characters, the overall time-frame, and the curiously-changing geography of the Island of Sodor. Having viewed the series at length, I've also formulated some pretty strong opinions about it and the underlying meanings of certain things. I use these opinions in a possibly humorous (to me) and largely sarcastic manner. Tonight, those opinions got me blocked from posting on the official Thomas and Friends facebook page. Yes - The Rock Father™ has been banned from Sodor.
