It's hard for me not to be just a little bit silly when reviewing Lullaby Renditions of DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, the latest offering from the Rockabye Baby! collection of nursery-ready pop and rock tunes. I actually find Dave and his band of musical merry-men to be tolerable and quite good musically, yet I've never been a fan. Not once have I ever thought to myself, ''Yep, I need to go put on some Dave Matthews Band right now!'' Never happened. Never will. My wife, on the other hand - big, big fan. That means I get to take shots at the DMB for my own amusement from time to time.

The MELVINS have partnered with Scion A/V Metal for a FREE original EP entitled THE BULLS & THE BEES. The band's first new music since 2010's THE BRIDE SCREAMED MURDER can be downloaded (in exchange for an email) via the TopSpin widget below. Since I love MELVINS and have a Scion XB (with a million miles on it and in need of constant repair lately), I feel good about sharing this here on The Rock Father™.

In just eight days, the official start of Spring 2012 will be upon us. For my daughter and I, that means that Gardening Season is here, and for the first time ever - I will be doing a full-scale Gardening Blog here on The Rock Father™.  Now, there's a few of you that might be surprised to find out that I'm big into gardening, and having run across a few surprised folks in the real world over the past few years, I'll explain simply: Gardening rocks.

I'm a big fan of EARTH FRIENDLY PRODUCTS. In addition to being a local, Illinois-based business, they make some of the best, 100% natural household products that we've ever tried. Back in December, I reviewed their ''Safeguard Your Home Pack'' here on The Rock Father™, after having already used their ECOS laundry detergent for quite some time. My only gripe thus far is that their products aren't carried in enough major retailers (get crackin', Target, Walmart, and Babies R Us!). With their latest announcement, however, that should be changing pretty quickly. DISNEY BABY ECOS is on the way!

Until this morning, I had no idea that Lionsgate made a movie based on Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel's best-selling book WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING. Indeed, we've got a copy of that book here in the house somewhere, along with two of it's sequels - WHAT TO EXPECT: THE FIRST YEAR, and WHAT TO EXPECT: THE TODDLER YEARS. Making a movie out of a book with no characters and no storyline could've been an interesting task for the screenwriters, but when your main goal is to attach a parenting comedy to a recognizable brand name, I'm sure it was less difficult than it sounds on the surface. With a May 18 release date fast-approaching, the Lionsgate marketing machine is in motion, with a full trailer and a daddy-centric ''Dude's Group'' version making the rounds. Let's take a look...

Yo Gabba Gabba! has recently been posting some new videos online from some past episodes, and this one is too good not to share with readers of The Rock Father™. Back on March 9, 2010 (yes, two years ago today), the mighty WEEZER made an appearance on the 'Bugs' episode of Season 3 for a furry performance of a song called All My Friends Are Insects. Check out the video of the performance below, and rock out with the kids. =w=
