It's somewhat hard to believe, but this fall will mark four years since Walt Disney Animation Studios' FROZEN first brought an icy blast into theaters. Families still can't get enough of from the residents of Arendelle, with the Frozen Fever short being too short, and the feature-length sequel still a couple of years off. This holiday season, we'll get a little something to tide us over in the form of an all-new, 21-minute short - Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Making it's debut on November 22 alongside Disney•Pixar's COCO. Check out the trailer below!

With the news that Gwendoline Christie would be returning as Captain Phasma for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a big mystery was created in the galaxy: How did she survive the destruction of Starkiller Base in the final moments of Star Wars: The Force Awakens? The answer to that question will be revealed a few months prior to the latest Star Wars film, when writer Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye, Star Wars Annual) teams with artist Marco Checchetto (Star Wars: Shattered Empire, Star Wars: Screaming Citadel) for JOURNEY TO STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI – CAPTAIN PHASMA, a four-part miniseries bridging the events between Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

The death of Adam West last weekend was a shock to many, and with tributes pouring out around the world, perhaps the greatest and most creative is yet to come. Tomorrow night, Thursday, June 15, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Police Department Chief Charlie Beck will join surprise Bat-guests for a ceremonial lighting of the Bat-signal at City Hall's Spring Street Steps: 200 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The action takes place promptly at 9pm.

I feel it's time to remind America of something... are you ready? No matter what your political affiliation or lack thereof, it's okay to make fun of our President. It's also perfectly acceptable to question, challenge and take shots at your elected officials. Respect doesn't come with an office or position - it has to be earned. Political humor is timeless, and if you're the President of The United States of America, you are fair game. In my lifetime, I always think of Saturday Night Live and Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford as the benchmark - the earliest clips I can recall. I see people complaining on Twitter about Alec Baldwin as Trump, yet those same folks have no doubt laughed it up about other actors playing Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, Carter and all of their opponents. It doesn't make any sense, because it is always acceptable to make fun of the President - always. On the printed page, MAD Magazine holds a long history of political humor, and if I recall correctly, it was my dad who bought me my first MAD Magazine (I went though an era of the 80s where I was a regular reader). Now, they're keeping that tradition alive in an era where the jokes write themselves. MAD About Trump: A Brilliant Look at Our Brainless President is out June 20th, and today the folks at DC Comics sent over a preview to Rock Father HQ, and I'm sharing it with you. I don't post a lot about politics here on the site, but as a registered Independent that cannot fully identify with any political party in this country (or any other), I say, "Joke 'Em All!" Anyone remember the comic book, "Great Morons in History: Dan Quayle?" I had that one...

This special feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™, Cheerios and Life of Dad.

Parenting is a balancing act. It doesn’t matter whether your’re a dad or a mom, being responsible for the lives of little human beings can be a daunting task. It’s a gig that goes in waves and cycles, with each passing year, a flip of the calendar that simply shuffles the deck to bring in new challenges - just as the kids take on new activities. Here at Rock Father HQ, our balance includes a corporate gig for my wife (a 40-mile commute twice a day, five days a week), a weird schedule for me that now involves travel roughly once a month, and then balancing those responsibilities with our girls. Two school schedules - one in full-day, one in half-day - plus all the other things like ballet, gymnastics, swimming lessons, girl scouts, theatre camp… and whatever else might happen to plug itself into the mix. It sounds like a lot because it is - but we love it, and we make it work, but that deck is always stacked, and the right balance is key. When something gets out of whack (and it has… many times), the whole thing can come tumbling down for a reset. Just like a stack of wooden blocks… or a well-balanced stack of delicious Cheerios.

We're just days away from the June 16 release of Disney•Pixar's Cars 3, and today comes what is likely the final trailer for the film - one dubbed "The Limit." In addition to the new spot, full details on the Cars 3 soundtrack and original score have been revealed. Both musical companion pieces will be issued on CD and digital the same day that the film hits theaters. Check it out...

It's astonishing how Marvel Studios continues to reinvent and expand it's on-screen world. The Marvel Cinematic Universe just works, but the individual pieces increasingly bear their own distinct flavor, and tonight we have our first look at one of the next chapters. BLACK PANTHER will hit theaters on February 16, 2018, and the first official teaser has arrived. While the character made an appearance in last year's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, we haven't seen Black Panther's kingdom on-screen before. Check out the trailer below, and if you find yourself searching for the soundtrack, it's "Legend Has It" from the latest album by Run the Jewels, RTJ3.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is more than ripe for a remake at this point, right? Alright, maybe some things are just best left untouched - but a classic show with such a classic theme song just stays with us, and Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro will never escape the powerful force that is Bel-Air. While said theme has been covered many times over, I always appreciate a good cover, and when it comes from Leo Moracchioli of Frog Leap Studios, it's essentially guaranteed to be good... and metallic. Check out this rockin' version of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Theme Song" below!

Two months after revealing their resurrection and reformation, DIRGE WITHIN are ready to make new “Memories” with the release of their comeback single, available today on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other digital outlets. Originally featured on their 2012 album, "There Will Be Blood," the re-recorded single positions the band to pick up right where they left off prior to their five-year hiatus.

I never realized it until I was an adult, but if I were to create my own "Rock Father Toy Hall of Fame," PLAYMOBIL would be guaranteed a spot as one of the greatest toy lines of all time. Providing countless hours of imaginative play for kids since 1974, PLAYMOBIL has surprisingly steered clear of the licensing market (with few exceptions, like sports), but for 2017 they've jumped into that realm with Ghostbusters and How to Train Your Dragon - a couple of lines that are both unexpected, and ripe for some fantastic toys. For the former, PLAYMOBIL has created a new collection with cross-generational appeal, bringing Ghostbusters back into toy departments where kids of all ages can strap on their Proton Packs for some serious supernatural fun. PLAYMOBIL recently had their new Ecto-1 action vehicle sent to us for review in The Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ™, and it's everything we'd hoped it would be... and more. Check out the timelapse build and hands-on action in the video below!

Watch the New Trailer for Disney•Pixar's Coco!

Written by

When I was visiting Pixar Animation Studios earlier this spring, I couldn't avoid being curious about a hallway that led to what is currently the "Coco Wing" - where work has been continuing on the next feature to bear the Disney•Pixar mark. It's rare to have two Pixar films in one year, but it has happened - and this year it's Cars 3 and Coco, and tonight comes a new trailer for the latter - hitting theaters just in time for the holidays. Check it out below!
