If you're an avid viewer of ABC's Shark Tank, you may recall an episode from a few years back when Shark Robert Herjavec, Founder & CEO of Herjavec Group made a deal with a little company called Happy Feet. The maker of plush character slippers had been around since the late 90s, but it was that 2014 deal that really took things in a new direction. Now, a new collaboration between Happy Feet and Disney has been revealed, with Happy Feet set to produce a robust line of plush slippers and proprietary footwear for Disney and Disney•Pixar brands, which includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Nightmare Before Christmas, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princess, FrozenToy Story 4, and many more. This new lineup of over 30 hand-crafted styles joins previous collaborations including a Marvel line. Each pair of Happy Feet is created using unique fabrics, soft plush, and detailed embroidery to bring fan-favorite characters to life. Check out a preview below...

Much like the constant debate on whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie (it is), there's a frequent clash over whether Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween or a Christmas movie (it's both). For two-and-a-half decades, the debate has raged on, but in the end audiences are still just happy to enjoy the cross-holiday adventures of Jack Skellington whenever they'd like.  I've always found myself to be quite attached to Jack as The Pumpkin King (I'm an October child from the largest pumpkin-producing state in the nation), and his songs have always struck an important chord. That said, The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of those films that I've owned over and over again, from VHS to DVD to 20th Anniversary Blu-ray and now the 25th Anniversary Sing-Along Edition. Indeed, despite the music of the film being of such massive importance, a sing-along version for in-home viewing has just now become available.

Freeform is ready for the fall spirit, and this week they've pulled back the curtain on their plans for the 2018 edition of their annual "31 Nights of Halloween." The full schedule can be seen below, and you'll notice that it leans heavily toward two films that are both celebrating their 25th anniversary this year - Hocus Pocus and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas! Check out the full schedule, along with details on an all-new Disney Parks Halloween special below!

Halloween just became a little more festive, as Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, the Mayor of Halloween Town and more return to theaters for a special limited engagement run of Disney’s beloved classic THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Conceived and produced by Tim Burton, and directed by Henry Selick, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS has become a modern classic in the years following its 1993 release, and from October 28-31, 2016, you can see it on the big screen, exclusively in over 200 Regal cinemas locations nationwide!

We're gonna file this one under "Toys for Grownups," because these action figures aren't for the kids. In fact, while I tend to open the few figures I occasionally happen to buy, these would probably never be opened as they're 2014 made to look like... the 80s. I'm talking about the new ReAction Figures line from Funko and Super7, a collection that I'd been meaning to feature here on THE ROCK FATHER for ages, and now feel beyond obligated to - they're just that cool. What if BACK TO THE FUTURE and GOONIES had figures made by Kenner way back when? What if the Universal Monsters got in on the action, along with other Horror icons, or characters from PULP FICTION, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, or the famed players from Joss Whedon's BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL and FIREFLY? The answer has arrived, and ReAction might be the hottest thing going this year for old-school pop culture aficionados like myself.

As of today, there are only 69 days until Christmas. Yes, the Holiday Season is almost upon us, and the folks at Disney have just hit The Rock Father with details on some classic titles that will be released on Blu-ray for the very first time, each perfect for gifting or family viewing. MICKEY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL: 30th Anniversary Edition and WINNIE THE POOH: A VERY MERRY POOH YEAR (Gift of Friendship Edition) will arrive on November 5, followed by THE LITTLE MERMAID II: RETURN TO THE SEA & ARIEL'S BEGINNING on November 19. Check out full details on each, along with some additional Disney goodies below in today's Disney Roundup...
