Jelly BellyAnd who says that jelly beans are just for kids and Easter baskets? One of my earliest jelly bean memories was hearing about how much Ronald Reagan dug 'em back in the early 80s. So, you could say that they're a certified "grownup" snack, and one worthy of Presidential consumption. Knowing that, the folks at Jelly Belly have long made some unique, more "grownup" flavors, and this week they've rolled out another. Introducing, the Draft Beer Jelly Bean...

Just four calories, and with no alcoholic content (sorry, friends in Wisconsin) the Draft Beer Jelly Bean "took about three years to perfect," says Ambrose Lee, research and development manager for Jelly Belly Candy Company. "The recipe includes top secret ingredients, but I can tell you it contains no alcohol." This new treat pays tribute to the Jelly Belly Candy Company's German heritage with a Hefeweizen-inspired ale flavor. [Note: The Rock Father heartily recommends listening to Rammstein as well, which he does to celebrate his own German ancestry].

Other than the beer-flavored bean, it's been a big week for the rest of Jelly Belly, with the introduction of the spicy TABASCO Jelly Beans, an expansion of their Camo Bean line (which I should try, since they'd go well with my Camo shorts and Diaper Bag) with a "Pink Camo" collection set for March, and their HARRY POTTER line just got infested with JELLY SLUGS, straight outta HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN.
