It's been a long-running controversy... why Kinder Surprise Eggs are available just about anywhere but the U.S. Officially, it's been a safety issue, one even referenced in a recent gun control ad that points out the candy is banned, while certain assault rifles are not. These chocolate eggs, each packed with a toy surprise inside, have been confiscated by customs for years, but now the Kinder brand is finally coming to the U.S. in a legal manner. Ferrero U.S.A, Inc., the company known for famous brands such as Ferrero Rocher®, Nutella® and Tic Tac®, is now launching Kinder Joy® – touted as "a unique treat made especially for kids with parents in mind." Differing from their overseas counterparts, Kinder Joy is a plastic egg-shaped package that is comprised of two separately sealed halves. One half contains candy, the other a toy.

Holiday Wish Guide: Candy Craft Chocolate Pen

One of the items that's popping up on year-end "Best-of" lists and "Gift Guides" around the web is the Candy Craft Chocolate Pen by Skyrocket Toys.  Wouldn't you know... it's on my 2015 Holiday Wish Guide here at THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, too! Check out the full details below, and be sure to visit their official site to plan your visit.

I love to think that there was a time - a time not long ago, just over a century ago - when you could build something in America that was able to become such a success, that an entire town could be named in it's (and your) honor. That happened when Milton S. Hershey created a "company town" that became known as Hershey, Pennsylvania, or "The Sweetest Place on Earth" back in 1894. Now, in addition to boasting the birthplace and main manufacturing hub for the Hershey's brands of chocolate-based goodness, Hershey, PA also includes a ballpark, arena, a theme park, and the original HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD. As part of our first Great American Road Trip series, my wife and I took the girls the Chocolate World last month to experience it as a family.

Jelly BellyAnd who says that jelly beans are just for kids and Easter baskets? One of my earliest jelly bean memories was hearing about how much Ronald Reagan dug 'em back in the early 80s. So, you could say that they're a certified "grownup" snack, and one worthy of Presidential consumption. Knowing that, the folks at Jelly Belly have long made some unique, more "grownup" flavors, and this week they've rolled out another. Introducing, the Draft Beer Jelly Bean...

I turned 36 last week, and while many people would say "that isn't really old," I sure feel old when I think about how much Trick or Treating has changed over the past 30 years or so. Raising a pair of daughters in 2012 and beyond, gone is much of the spooky fun that was experienced as a child growing up in the 80s.
