I don't review too many singles here on The Rock Father, and it's probably for the simple fact that there aren't a lot of bands that still release physical singles. For the California trio known as THE HIPWADERS, it's fitting that they do, as their music recalls better days for the music industry - a time when bands would crank out fresh music on a regular basis, serving it up regularly on 7-inch, 45rpm vinyl available only at the neighborhood record store. It's a very 1960s business model.

Fisher Price

I'll be sad when my girls eventually outgrow their Fisher-Price Little People. I figure that I've got at least 4-5 years left since the baby is just about to start getting into them, but Little People have come a long way since I had them growing up. Now, they've even got seasonal exclusives for nearly every Holiday or special occasion. In fact, I've already got a Christmas-themed "Tree Lighting in Discovery Park" purchased and tucked away for Finley to receive in December... I like to plan ahead. Now, with St. Patrick's Day coming up (March 17, 2013) and Easter hitting early this year (March 31, 2013), Fisher-Price has some cute exclusives perfect for Spring play. Check these out...

31 Days of Halloween: Cadbury Screme Egg

When you've got a Holiday-centric product that only sells from New Years until Easter, time becomes fairly limiting. The solution to expansion? Get into other Holidays. Marshmallow Peeps did it, so why not the Cadbury Creme Egg? Well, they did it - and as far as I can tell, the Halloween edition of the popular chocolate egg first appeared in Europe and Canada last year. For 2012, they're here in the 'States as well, though without the marketing push that our neighbors to the North are witnessing.

I dont even have a creative title for this one, yet I feel compelled to blog about it. You see, I have a weird relationship with Easter... in that I'm not a fan at all. Despite my own feelings about the holiday, as The Rock Father™, I have to make it fun for my daughter (and, starting next year - daughters) as a 'Springtime Celebration' devoid of any religious implications. Judging by the vast array of Easter decor and fun that's readily available at just about any retailer, I have to believe that a huge portion of the population feels the same way, yet I never hear anyone actually talking about it.

If you missed my review of Gustafer Yellowgold's YEAR IN THE DAY earlier this week, hit this link to get caught up on why you and your little ones should be paying attention. That said, as our little buddy from The Sun has been exploring the Holidays of his new Earthly home, he's posted a music video that's just perfect for this weekend. ''Eggs'' is peaceful ode to the millions of colorful gems that are about to be dropped off by a six-foot anthropomorphic bunny this weekend. Whether you and your little ones celebrate ''Easter,'' or just prefer to celebrate Spring (like me!), here's a song for you.
