Sans Blood, KISS Heads Back to Comics...

It's a famous story that dates back to the late 1970s - with members of KISS lending their own blood to the ink from which their first standalone comic would be printed. From their 1977 appearance in Howard the Duck #12 and 1978's Marvel Comics Super Special: KISS (the one with the blood), KISS has been in-and-out of print,  Now, nearly 40 years later, Dynamite Entertainment has revealed that KISS is coming back into the comic book realm.

Back in 2014, a helicopter descended upon the Hard Rock Hotel as KISS invaded Las Vegas for a historic nine-show run at The Joint. Now, for one night only on May 25, fans will be able to experience this spectacular night for themselves as KISS Rocks Vegas hits cinemas across the globe. From this blistering live show, fans can expect sky high flames, ear-bursting volume and a few drops of blood! Includes exclusive interviews with band and footage you will only see in the cinema. Details are scarce right now aside from the fact that theater locations will be revealed soon, with tickets to be made available on KISSmycinema.com. There's an L.A.-based duo called SNAKED (Hugh Myrone and Depressed Teenager) that just debuted a new single called "Paul Stanley" via NestHQ, and it's worth a listen. They're calling it RDM (Rockstar Dance Music), and over the top of the beats and riffs sits the onstage banter of the KISS vocalist for which the song is named. There's a couple of "Ohs" and "Woos" that sound more like VAN HALEN's David Lee Roth from the famed "Running With the Devil" acapella takes, but it's a tune all about Paul. Check it out below...

Ever since I first previewed Scooby-Doo! & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery back in April, I've been waiting for the chance to get someone hooked-up with a copy. That time is now, as Warner Bros. and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are bringing you the best (because you wanted the best, right?) and giving readers a chance to score this all-new animated movie on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD with UltraViolet Combo Pack. KISS serves-up six classic songs for the film, along with one newly-recorded song just for Scooby-Doo! Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer are voicing themselves, while other guest stars include Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Darius Rucker and more. Check out the details...

Back in 2003, KISS made a special appearance on the Halloween episode of WHAT'S NEW, SCOOBY DOO? to help the Mystery, Inc. gang thwart a haunting. Now, more than a decade later, there's an all-new movie on the way, with SCOOBY-DOO AND KISS: ROCK AND ROLL MYSTERY arriving on Digital HD (July 10) and DVD & Blu-ray (July 21) via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Earlier today the first trailer made its debut over at USA Today, and there's plenty to dig, but it's also a little odd that they're actually using SIMPLE PLAN's 2002-era theme song. Check it out...

WWE StudiosTwo titans have just announced an unholy alliance to create "elevated horror movies" - WWE Studios, and KISS icon GENE SIMMONS. This new partnership has spawned EREBUS PICTURES, a new company that will finance and produce films, starting with TEMPLE, written by Matt Savelloni (EXILE TO BABYLON). The film "will follow a team of highly trained operatives who find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after its artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down. While investigating the source of the malfunction, the crew begins to experience strange and horrific phenomena as they attempt to uncover who or what killed the team previously stationed at the compound."
