Last week, I went to a dual-Graduation Party - one kid escaping eighth grade, while another was moving on from college. With so many families looking forward to Graduation Day this June, the guys from HOT PEAS 'N BUTTER have released a celebratory single that is appropriately entitled, "Graduation Day." Available now on iTunes, an animated video just hit the streets, and I'm sharing it for you right here on The Rock Father...

Watch: RECESS MONKEY - "Fish Sticks"

We're just a few weeks out from the June 18 release of RECESS MONKEY's latest album, DEEP SEA DIVER (full details), and the band is kicking their aquatic adventure into high gear. Having just released their music video for "Tambourine Submarine" earlier this month (watch it here), a visual piece for "Fish Sticks" has arrived. I wonder if they've ever run into the OCTONAUTS in their travels? Check out the new clip on The Rock Father below...

You might not know the name Brent Almond, but in the realm of "Dad Bloggers" many know him as Designer Daddy. For the past few years, Brent and his husband (known as "Papa") have been raising a beautiful, adopted son named JJ. On his blog, Brent covers life as a two-dad family, cool kids stuff, superheroes, and more. A few months back, Brent shared a live video of a performance from last October in which he did a song at the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington’s annual retreat. That song, "My Two Daddies (Can Beat Up Your One)" was well-recieved, and now it's spawned a studio version.

Mr. Steve (aka Steve Roslonek of SteveSongs fame) has long been a staple of PBS KIDS, so it was no surprise that he made an appearance at the 2013 PBS Annual Meeting at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach last week. What was a surprise, however, is that he performed a special song that incorporated the names of blogs written by the PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent) Ambassadors - which I, The Rock Father, am a part of. Check out the informal video below, along with lyrics that I've hopefully transcribed correctly.

Rock Father readers in the New York City area might want to mark their calendars for June 9. The folks at the monthly Hip Tot Music Festival have announced their final show of the season, with SLAVIC SOUL PARTY set to bring their mix of "throbbing funk grooves, fiery Balkan brass, Gypsy accordion wizardry, and virtuoso jazz chops" to families as they take the stage in support of the Community Roots Charter School, a public school in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
