It's Pumpkin Spice Season. As Starbucks preps to unleash this year's supply of the official beverage of fall, I've already done my first "pumpkin-everything" haul for 2018... sadly, a few days later than usual as it appears my local retailers were slacking in terms of stocking the seasonal goods this time around. But who says that humans should have all the fun? Now, thanks to twitter, I know that Greenies is serving up a Limited Edition batch of Pumpkin Spice Greenies - a worthy treat for all the canines in the house!
It's not even summer yet, and I'm already thinking of the most glorious season of the year... Fall. As an unabashed fan of all things Pumpkin and Pumpkin Spice (when done well), I have high hopes for one of 2016's newest offerings, Pumpkin Spice Cheerios. Revealed via Bloomberg, it's a wonder that General Mills has waited this long to bring some pumpkin-y goodness to their famous oats since they already offer a ton of Pumpkin flavors throughout their other brands. While there's no release date announced just yet, I'd bet we'll start seeing Pumpkin Spice Cheerios on shelves (and pallet stacks, endcaps and other gloriously massive displays) right around the same time that the General Mills Monsters crawl out of their crypt... usually August/September.
Fall is my favorite season of all. I've always figured it was because I was born in October - a Halloween baby of sorts - but my pumpkin-obsession is powerful. Each Fall since starting The Rock Father in 2011, I have posted something about the return of Pumpkin Spice Latte to Starbucks. No, these are not sponsored posts (though I did recently do a campaign with Starbucks)... I just really, really, really, really like Pumpkin Spice Latte. And just about everything else pumpkin-related, too. In fact, I put a Glade Pumpkin air freshener in my office almost a month ago. It's just part of the season that I love so much, and now I get to share the joy of the season with my daughters. Pumpkin Spice Latte returned to Starbucks for 2013 last week, and today I acquired my first taste of Fall...
It's time once again for the return of an old friend - one that brings warmth and comfort to the cool Fall days and nights... one that's still welcome even though it's still hot here in Illinois. Yes, I'm talking about the Pumpkin Spice Latte from STARBUCKS, and yes - it's back. Officially released today for the 2012 season, they snuck out early at the Starbucks I visited within a TARGET store this past Saturday, and that said - the first Pumpkin Spice of the season was officially consumed. For The Rock Father, Pumpkin Spice is just another element of what makes Fall the best season of them all.
As a big fan of Starbucks' Annual Pumpkin Spice Latte (or just about anything pumpkin this time of year), I've been hunting for the perfect recipe to make some Pumpkin Spice at home. A little Pumpkin Spice without the $5 price has been a mission, then earlier this month, the Redeye here in Chicago published a recipe that I tried out and have been tweaking a bit as well. Below the jump you can find out what you'll need to start brewing your own. While the Starbucks version is said to contain ''four pumps of flavored syrup,'' The Rock Father™ is sharing a version that tastes a lot more pumpkin-y, because it uses real pumpkin.
