We're in the home stretch of the 2018 holiday season, and that means that gift-givers will soon be hitting the stores in a frenzy. I've long-held that movies are not only the perfect gift - but they're truly the perfect stocking stuffer. They just tend to slip right into the stockings so snuggly - as if a Blu-ray package was intentionally-sized to fit within the traditional staple of seasonal gift holders. But what to get, especially for the action-loving guys on your list this season? Two top choices are both Holiday Wish Guide™ Picks here at The Rock Father™ Magazine: Sony Pictures Venom and Equalizer 2, both available at Walmart!
It wasn't long ago that I found myself playing host to nearly 250 Goosebumps fans for a special advance screening of Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween near Chicago. Now comes word that GOOSEBUMPS 2 (which seems to have lost the tagline) is coming home on Christmas Day on Digital, with the Blu-ray and DVD to follow on 1/15/2019. Slappy holidays, everyone! Check out the announcement video below!
The Drac Pack is back with HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3, which will make its debut on Digital HD September 25, and on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD on October 9, just in time to for a spooky, fun, family movie night right before Halloween! This must-own family comedy, which has grossed more than $425 million in theaters worldwide to date, follows in the tradition of the blockbuster Hotel Transylvania franchise when Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury, haunted monster cruise ship. Of course, the rest of the Drac Pack has to tag along, and that’s when things get a little…batty. The monsters are having a great time, indulging in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to colossus-sized buffets and exotic excursions, but then the unexpected happens when Drac falls for the ship’s mysterious (and dangerous) human captain Ericka. The third film in this family-friendly monster franchise is the best reviewed installment and you’re invited along on the haunted cruise vacation!
This Hotel Transylvania Special Feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™ Magazine, Pollinate Media Group® and Snyder’s-Lance Inc.
With summer in full swing, we've entered the big summer movie season both in theaters and at home. For regular readers, it should be no secret that we're big movie fans, and while the traditional cinema experience can be a cool break from the hot summer temperatures, our family loves going to the drive-in, and we also love showing movies in our backyard theater right here at home. Backyard movies are a great way to bring the neighborhood together, and depending on what you're showing, it can also lend itself to some fun themes. Since Sony Pictures Animation's Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is arriving in theaters on July 13, here's five essentials for throwing a Hotel Transylvania double-feature to get re-acquainted with how the story of Dracula and Mavis began. You'll be all caught up before Drac's pack sets sail on a monster cruise ship helmed by a Captain who holds a mysterious secret that could threaten them all!
At its core, Hotel Transylvania has always been about vacationing. In fact, the first film established that with its titular location - a five-stake resort for all manner of monster. But what happens when the proprietor of said resort needs some time for a vacation himself? Well, that's the story of Sony Pictures Animation's Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. In theaters on Friday the 13th of July, Dracula and the crew hit the seas for a luxury cruise, and from the looks of things, he's gonna need a vacation when he's done with his vacation - something that rings true from my own experience as The Rock Father™. Now, to get your family up to speed before the third film in what can now be called "The Hotel Transylvania Trilogy" hits theaters, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment at yours truly have teamed-up for a double-feature movie night with Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2 on DVD. I'm coining #DadsForDrac as a tagline!
I've mentioned Jim Henson’s EMMET OTTER’S JUG-BAND CHRISTMAS many times in the past, if only because it's one of my all-time favorite holiday specials - one that I watched on HBO more times than I could count as a child. Now comes news that it's coming back to DVD on October 10 (pre-order via Amazon) from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment as a 40th Anniversary Edition, fully-remastered for a new generation.
