Toy State AmbassadorThe crew over at Toy State has been continuing their partnership with Mattel by rolling out a ton of new lights and sounds vehicles based on the iconic Hot Wheels brand. Hitting stores right now is the Hot Wheels Stunt FX line, an assortment of three vehicles, each with a small, ramped playset. Now, kids can crush a house with a monster truck, blast through a wall of ice, or in our case, leap through a gate to set off a chain reaction with the "Explosive Ramp" playset. As a Toy State "Test Driver," my kids and I often get to check out a sampling of the latest offerings, and this set was in our last batch. Let's take a look...

The included Dune Buggy features a lighted rear tail section, a variety of engine and braking noises, and some brief musical selections. The motorized action is speedy, and the rubber tires provide the necessary grip for propelling the car forward and allowing it to get some air on the included ramp. The ramp itself includes a breakaway gate and four "flaming" barrels, all of which are set off by a chain reaction, and can be re-set by pulling a switch located on the ramp.

Recommended for Ages 3+, my girls (they're almost two and five) both have been enjoying this set regularly for over a month, with the Dune Buggy getting a lot of solo play without using the ramp.

While the MSRP for the Stunt FX line is just $14.99, it appears that most retailers have these priced in the $20-$25 range, so take a peek for the best pricing. The Stunt FX vehicles are Rock Father-approved, and can be purchased from Amazon.com, or can be found in-store at Toys "R" Us, Walmart and Target locations.
