Every so often, beyond the normal realm of traditional vehicles, Mattel releases a fresh batch of Hot Wheels "Character Cars" - concept vehicles inspired by a pop culture franchise. In the past, the Character Cars series has seen MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS, TOY STORY 3, THE MUPPETS, and even SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS get the Hot Wheels treatment - but right now the two big lines are based on STAR WARS (two of which I showcased here) and MARVEL Comics. From the MARVEL assortment comes the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Rocket Raccoon car, featured in a #Toyography post on my social networks last week, and one that I've decided to share here on the site with a little more detail. First, the original photo...

Rocket Raccoon Character Car Hot Wheels

Here we see the Rocket car front-and-center, with Rocket and Groot hanging out in the background (those are Disney Infinity figures). To the right in the background is another Rocket-inspired car, albeit a standard vehicle with Rocket decor on it that comes included with the Hot Wheels "Rocket's Tailspin Takedown" trackset (available from Walmart).

GET IN GEAR!
This rocket-boosted tuner car blasts through the streets with the fierce yet disciplined force of MARVEL's Rocket Raccoon. Just like the Guardian of the Galaxy himself, the vehicle's diminutive stature does not make it any less commanding. With raccoon markings across the body and an aggressive grille housing Rocket's sharp teeth, this mini machine has a massive presence on the road!

Other Hot Wheels MARVEL Character Cars include fellow Guardian Star-Lord, along with Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, Hulk, Venom and Wolverine. They're available now at most major retailers, and can be found through secondary-market sellers on eBay...
