I'm getting a real Days of Thunder vibe from a lot of what I've seen thus far from Disney•Pixar's Cars 3, and I'm digging it. I grew up on racing (a lot of people don't know that), and I'm known for wearing a Cars Radiator Springs racing jacket on a fairly regular basis. That said, Cars 3 is looking good, and this "Extended Sneak-Peek" shows a little more of what's going on, and it's still not even a proper trailer for the film! After making a splash at a special press conference at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit yesterday, you can bet the name "Lightning McQueen" is fresh in the minds of many car-lovers far and wide. An old racer back to the dirt track, and even some figure eight (a Tournament of Destruction, perhaps?) action in the mix - check this out!

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2“) and produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short).
