Back in 2015, Marvel Studios unleashed what was essentially their first true "family" film, and after the darkness brought forth by Avengers: Infinity War, a return to the light-hearted world of Ant-Man (and a trip to the Quantum Realm) might be just what the world needs. As Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock throw down in a remix, "It Takes Two," and this time around it's ANT-MAN AND THE WASP getting ready to make a big mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe... by going small (and growing big). Check out the new trailer and poster below!
As of this morning, the world is waking up to discover the magnitude of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War. With the biggest opening weekend box office of all time ($258.2M domestic, $640.9M globally), the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) officially becomes the biggest superhero opening of all time - simultaneously grabbing the trophy for the biggest individual Saturday and Sunday box office off all time in North America. Capping off the first 10 years of Marvel Studios, the films will have pulled in more than $15B globally by the time Infinity War completes its run and the next five films are already on the way. The success of the studio is a team effort, and one of the people responsible has been there since the beginning - Victoria Alonso, EVP of Physical Production, and Executive Producer of Avengers: Infinity War. Together with Kevin Feige (President) and Louis D'Esposito (Co-President), she's helped shape the MCU into something that fans love and other studios often seek to emulate - overseeing every aspect of production from start to finish. Last week, mere hours after a late night celebrating the World Premiere of Infinity War, I was in the room at Marvel Studios in Burbank for one of the most unusual and enlightening meetings that I've ever been a part of. It was a conversation that for some mirrored the emotional rollercoaster (laughs! tears!) of the film itself - the rules tossed aside not for a rehash of what's been said elsewhere, but for a discussion about parenting, motherhood, and making the world a better place for our kids.
It doesn't seem like it's been three years since Marvel brought Ant-Man to the big screen, but is has been. 2015 was a banner year for me personally, and part of that was being invited to interview the cast and crew of Ant-Man in Los Angeles. Fast-forward a few years and Ant-Man has shown up in Captain America: Civil War, will soon appear in Avengers: Infinity War, and come July it's time for a team-up as Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly suit-up for Marvel Studios' ANT-MAN AND THE WASP! At the premiere of Black Panther in Los Angeles, it was teased that the masses would soon see the first trailer for the next Marvel adventure, and this morning that was a promise delivered. Here's your first-look at ANT-MAN AND THE WASP!

It was three years ago that Marvel's ANT-MAN first hit the big screen, and after appearances in Captain America: Civil War and the forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War, he'll be back in his second full-length movie, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP this summer. It's a team effort this time around, and the whole crew from the first film is back for another adventure...
Marvel Studios' ANT-MAN still holds-up as one of our favorite installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a film that I covered extensively back in 2015. After my own children shot their own sequel two years ago, now comes official word that production has begun on ANT-MAN & THE WASP starring Paul Rudd (“Captain America: Civil War,” “The Fundamentals of Caring”), Evangeline Lilly (“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” “Lost”), Michael Peña (“The Martian,” “Fury”) and Academy Award® winner Michael Douglas (“Behind the Candelabra,” “Wall Street”), who all return to the roles they originated in the 2015 box office hit “Ant-Man.” Bobby Cannavale (“Vinyl,” “Chef”), Judy Greer (“War for the Planet of the Apes,” “Wilson”), Abby Ryder Fortson (“Togetherness,” “Transparent”), Tip “T.I.” Harris (“Sleepless,” “Get Hard”) and David Dastmalchian (“Twin Peaks,” “The Belko Experiment”) also reprise their supporting roles.
MARVEL's ANT-MAN was not only one of my favorite movies of the year (review here), but a film I was fortunate to be able to cover first-hand as a guest of Disney/Marvel earlier this summer. While interviews with the cast and filmmakers was certainly a huge highlight, back at home the wide array of cool toys and collectibles spawned from the 12th entry into the MARVEL Cinematic Universe made sure to keep our whole family busy with a ton of unique adventures. During my ANT-MAN journey, I'd taken pictures with my MARVEL Infinite Legends ANT-MAN figure by Hasbro, doing a little "Toyography" here and there to have some fun. Little did I know that my ant-sized toys would eventually have their own to-scale copy of this week's Blu-ray release to call their own.
