Whenever The Rock Daughters spy a yellow and black Chevrolet Camaro on the streets, they always shout "there's Bumblebee!" For awhile following the release of Michael Bay's first TRANSFORMERS movie in 2007 (which pre-dated our parenthood by two years), you could actually buy an officially-licensed TRANSFORMERS Edition Camaro through Chevy, and over the years several of the Autobot-badged rides have been spotted not far from Rock Father HQ. With 2017's TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT, perhaps a new package will be available for purchase, as Bay has teased Bumblebee's latest version, a 2016 Camaro, possibly based on the ZL1 we saw at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this year. Keeping with the classic yellow, the new 'Bee features deeper black accents spread across the wheels, hood and a new ground effects package.
Have you seen these? Perhaps you haven't been looking hard enough, or perhaps their natural cloaking is just that good. Whatever the reason, The Hot Wheels Camouflage Series was in-and-out of Walmart stores last Fall, quite possibly hiding in plain sight, then speeding off into the realm of distant memory. I have a "thing" for camo as a whole... military fashion being part of it, my closet containing no less than six pairs of camo cargo shorts at any given time. Sometimes I get some grief for it, but I love camo - to the point in having a Washburn Dimebag Darrell Air Force Camo Guitar as part of my collection as well. That being said, I was pretty excited when the Hot Wheels Camo Series arrived - a set of six vehicles, each outfitted in a Camo paint scheme and matching card art. While you may not have seen these last Fall, I'm giving readers of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine a chance to win a full set of six! Ready to rock?
As of this writing, the official start of Spring is just a few short weeks away. While the season brings with it some much-needed freshness and color to the landscape, it's also a huge time for new toys, and this year my friends at The Step2 Company are launching a stellar lineup of toys (and some fun furniture, too). If you're already familiar with Step2, you'll recognize some upgraded versions of a few old favorites (a HOT WHEELS Coaster!; a Z06 Corvette Bed!) but there's also some totally new offerings (a Bubble Table!; a two-level Water Table!), and for the first-time ever, Step2 has collaborated with Disney for a series of FINDING DORY Water Tables. To celebrate the coming of warmer weather and outdoor play, Step2 and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving readers winning the new toy of their choice. One (1) winner can choose the item they'd most like from the list below...
The 2016 Chicago Auto Show is underway at McCormick Place, and with a million square feet of automotive goodness, there's a lot for enthusiasts and families to enjoy. While I'll be rolling out #CAS16 features here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine throughout the week, today I'm highlighting seven things (with a few add-ons) to look for at the auto show - from debut vehicles, to concepts, music, tech and more.
Until General Motors brings back the Pontiac nameplate - even if only for what I want it for, a new version of the famed Firebird Trans Am, the Chevy Camaro will rank among the top of what I dig when it comes to american muscle. For 2017, the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE performance package returns, aiming to put "attainable track performance" into the hands of the masses, and it made its debut at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
It's feels a little weird posting this - the first news out of The Step2 Company to arrive here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine after my gig as a Step2 Brand Ambassador crossed the finish line at the end of a fantastic three-year run. While I'm no longer on the payroll, I'll still be sharing updates like this one - something right up my alley, and a product that I saw first-hand during my last visit to Step2 HQ in Streetsboro, Ohio last year: The Step2® Z06 Chevrolet Corvette Toddler-to-Twin Bed. Kicking off 2016 in style, the realistic looking bed will have children racing to sleep with a sleek design that even parents can enjoy, bringing a world-class American Supercar into kids' bedrooms.
