No, the set is not being pulled due to any controversy, but it will end production in 2013... just as all LEGO sets eventually do. Who is ANDREW W.K.'s agent? I mean, I know who his publicist is (Hi Jerry!), but where do these interesting opportunities keep coming from? Last year, Andrew found himself speaking about the virtues of Pinkie Pie at a convention celebrating MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC. Then he was tapped for a position by the U.S. State Department to be a "Cultural Ambassador" to the Middle East - a gig that got nixed, but still, it happened. Now comes word that Andrew W.K. has been named a Spokesperson for PLAYTEX.

I'm still not 100% sure what to think about THE GORBURGER SHOW. In a lot of ways, the new show from The Warner Sound and Funny Or Die reminds me of the old VHS GWAR videos from the early 1990s.  What's it about? "Gorburger - an alien from outer space - has invaded and taken a Japanese news network hostage as host of his own talk show interviewing bands, musicians and celebrities all the while satisfying his thirst for bloodlust."

Fall Fun: Growing Pumpkin on a Stick (Part 1)

It's been a weird year for gardening, and with Fall finally upon us, I wish we had a bit more to harvest. One of our apparent successes this year is technically still a work-in-progress, but I wanted to highlight it here on The Rock Father Gardening Blog: Pumpkin on a Stick. For the past two seasons, Addie and I have purchased a variety of "fun" seed packets from a local greenhouse (which sadly closed this past July after around 30 years of business), mostly gourds and a few other oddities from a company called Livingston Seed.
