I've said this before, but with so many new STAR WARS fans finding themselves immersed in a galaxy far, far away thanks to THE FORCE AWAKENS, if you're not watching STAR WARS REBELS on Disney XD, now is the time to get started - or to catch up on the first season and a half, and jump-in where we're at right now. Things are getting good as the timeline inches closer to what we'll end up seeing in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY later this year, and in a more familiar form, where the story began in 1977's STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE. In next week's episode, "Shroud of Darkness," Jedi Master Yoda returns, as does Darth Vader. Take a look at the latest preview below, and hit my Facebook for all the latest stills from the new episode!

On February 24th, things are gonna get real interesting on STAR WARS REBELS, as a pair of longtime adversaries find themselves stranded on an icy moon of Geonosis following a failed Imperial ambush of the Rebels. When Agent Kallus is injured during an escape pod crash, it's he and Zeb that must work together to survive the harsh conditions. Could these two actually show compassion for one another? Check out a clip below, then head over to my Facebook page to see a collection of stills from the new episode.

STAR WARS REBELS has reached the point of delivering some much-anticipated backstory for the crew of The Ghost, and in "Legends of the Lasat," we'll find our heroes coming face-to-face with a duo that just might be the last remaining members of the Lasat race... aside from Garazeb Orrelios. If you recall from last season, Agent Kallus was all too excited to try his hand at taking out 'Zeb, and in the time that's followed, it's become very much a special mission. Check out a preview of the next episode below, and see more photos from this episode and all of Season Two on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine Facebook page.

STAR WARS REBELS returned from mid-season break last week, and things are just heating up. The mid-season trailer provided a dark look at things to come, with curious connections to THE FORCE AWAKENS. One thing hinted was a bit more backstory on the Rebels' Mandalorian artist/weapons expert, Sabine Wren - and in "The Protector of Concord Dawn," we're going to get some. Check out a preview below, and see more photos from this episode and all of Season Two on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine Facebook page.

After winter break, STAR WARS REBELS returns to Disney XD with an all-new episode on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT). In "A Princess on Lothal,"an aide to Bail Organa (Princess Leia Organa) is sent to Lothal with ships for the rebel fleet, but an Imperial lockdown forces the rebels to create a new plan to steal the vehicles. Set just three years prior to the original STAR WARS Trilogy and the events of 1977's A NEW HOPE, Leia is shown as "a young leader on her way to becoming the strong, more resolute character" that fans came to know and love - decades before her appearance as General Leia Organa in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Here's some great news to start the week - Disney XD has ordered a third season of STAR WARS REBELS from Lucasfilm. The announcement came alongside news that STAR WARS REBELS: Season Three is already in-production and set to debut sometime in 2016. With STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS set for release on December 18th, it's interesting to see how REBELS will play out as ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY should hit theatres for Christmas 2016, meaning that there will be both animated and live-action STAR WARS projects at the same time - both of which inhabit a similar timeline leading up to the story told in 1977's original STAR WARS film. Appropriately, our youngest daughter is wearing her "famous" Her Universe "Sabine" shirt right now as I type this...
