Lightsabers have been featured several times already during Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, but this time it's skewing a little bit newer. From Disney XD's STAR WARS REBELS collection comes two unique takes on the classic design - Ezra Bridger's blaster/lightsaber combo, and The Inquisitor's spinning double-bladed version. Light side and Dark side, both have their benefits, and each has no defined standard for the creation of their weapons Whatever works!

When Jimmy Smits was first announced as being cast as Bail Organa in the STAR WARS Cinematic Prequels, I was one of the people that viewed him as "the guy from L.A. LAW." Now, Bail Organa holds a solid place as a founding member of the Rebel Alliance, and today his 2008 "Legacy Collection" action figure is the featured entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar. Smits was born on this day back in 1955, but Organa is back again on Disney XD's STAR WARS REBELS, though voiced by actor Phil LaMarr.

We're officially less than sixty days from #ForceFriday, and that means we're less than two months from families beginning to have new adventures with toys from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.  With 59 days to go, Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar continues, and today it's Jedi Luminara Unduli. This character (featured here in her 2013 "Black Series" edition) is interesting in that she first appeared during THE CLONE WARS (as part of the cinematic prequels), and eventually made her way into Disney XD's STAR WARS REBELS as part of an Imperial ruse in "Rise of the Old Masters." Morbid as it may be, Unduli's remains were used to lure Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger into a trap...

There is so much to love about STAR WARS REBELS, and my girls can certainly attest to digging Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios a lot. The muscle of The Ghost's crew, Zeb borrows much of his design from the original Chewie sketches by Ralph McQuarrie, but his voice has always struck me as a rougher Jason Statham type. This former member of the Lasat Honor Guard took much pride in busting the heads of Stormtroopers, and today he appears as the featured entry in Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar. STAR WARS REBELS is back for a second season this Fall on Disney XD.

On Friday, it was sheer coincidence that I happened to have received an announcement regarding Disney XD's STAR WARS REBELS... while standing in a hallway at Disney XD. While I was there to check out a screening of Disney's DESCENDANTS (more on that later), I was excited to learn that STAR WARS REBELS: COMPLETE SEASON ONE had officially been announced for a home video release on Blu-ray and DVD for September 1st. No doubt our favorite show to enjoy as a family right now, SEASON ONE packs all 15 episodes ("Spark of Rebellion" is counted as a two-parter) alongside bonus material and interviews with the cast and crew.

One of the most beautiful things throughout the STAR WARS Saga is the dynamic between villains... and the different levels within their ranks. For every smooth gangster like Darth Vader, there's a governmental jerk nearby, like Grand Moff Tarkin, for example. And in Tarkin's shadow in the era of STAR WARS REBELS is Agent Kallus, a member of the Imperial Security Bureau, which creator Dave Filoni refers to as being "sorta like the F.B.I." Kallus also has some of the finest facial hair in the galaxy, and his helmet is designed specifically to protect said beardness. Agent Kallus was one of the first figures to be released from the STAR WARS REBELS collection, and is today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar!
