It's always a weird thing with Star Wars - the tendency to read too much into things, but aside from decades of separation and the 40th Anniversary of the franchise, I have to wonder if there's a connection between the two big Hasbro reveals today. Just hours after unveiling details on their Star Wars The Black Series Rey and Speeder (see it here), now comes news of The Black Series X-34 Landspeeder and 6-Inch Luke Skywalker figure. On display at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, this new set will be at retail this fall, with a suggested retail price of $59.99. See more below...

Star Wars 40th AnniversaryFrom an office far, far away from Star Wars Celebration Orlando, I'm still rockin' the pre-show updates remotely as thousands of Star Wars fans prepare to spend the next few days rubbing elbows with the folks who make the saga happen. Since it's Wednesday, that means a new episode of The Star Wars Show has hit the web, and they're pregaming, too. In fact, it's a much better pre-show than I could give you, as they've got the real scoop on what's coming up involving the Star Wars 40th Anniversary panel, The Last Jedi, Star Wars Rebels and much, much more. Check it out...

Star Wars 40th AnniversaryMattel's ever-expanding line of Star Wars-inspired toys has been a big favorite here at Rock Father HQ, both with our family and readers of the site alike. Leading the charge has been the Star Wars Hot Wheels Character Cars (checklist here), and as promised last year, the 2017 Star Wars Celebration Orlando will be the place to get the exclusive Biggs Darklighter car - the winner of a fan's choice poll. As I'm not attending Celebration in-person, this one might be tough to get (I missed out on the previous Celebration-exclusive Boba Fett as well), but it's definitely something to see. #SWCO: Hasbro's Black Series Rey and Speeder

Star Wars Celebration Orlando is getting underway this week, and thus we're preparing for an onslaught of fresh news from around the Star Wars Galaxy to come rolling into Rock Father HQ... probably faster than I can keep up. One of the first reveals hit yesterday, with the debut of a new set from Hasbro - STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES REY’S SPEEDER (JAKKU) & REY (SCAVENGER) Figure. Set to hit retail this fall with a suggested price of $59.99, this gorgeous set features an all-new, highly-articulated figure of Daisy Ridley's Rey, alongside a detailed version of her speeder from JJ Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Disney Consumer Products just hit THE ROCK FATHER Magazine with official images of the first toy from ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY - Hasbro's STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES Jyn Erso (Jedha). The six-inch figure will be released later this year, alongside a full range of new toys and products from the first-ever live-action standalone STAR WARS film, Gareth Edwards' ROGUE ONE. Check out the pictures of star Felicity Jones getting a first look at her figure, along with pack shots straight from the Hasbro team! ROGUE ONE is in theaters on December 16, 2016.

At the in-progress STAR WARS CELEBRATION EUROPE in the UK, Lucasfilm leader Kathleen Kennedy just unleashed a special reel of behind-the-scenes footage from Garth Edwards' forthcoming film, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY. This is the first-ever standalone STAR WARS film that falls outside of the episodic timeline, taking place just before the opening moments of 1977's STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE. This is the tale of the Rebels who stole the plans for the Death Star, and a story that will once again bring Darth Vader back to the big screen. Check out the reel below...
