When I was in the Hasbro showroom at the 115th North American International Toy Fair back in February, one of the action figures highlighted as part of the relaunch of The Vintage Collection was Doctor Aphra. Ripped from the pages of Marvel Comics' Darth Vader series, Aphra turned heads and quickly became one of the most buzzed-about new figures from Hasbro. While she'll be available later this year as a single-carded figure at mass retail, her debut will happen at San Diego Comic-Con International, where the tradition of Star Wars "Special Action Figure Sets" will continue. Check out the details below!

I've said this before, but with so many new STAR WARS fans finding themselves immersed in a galaxy far, far away thanks to THE FORCE AWAKENS, if you're not watching STAR WARS REBELS on Disney XD, now is the time to get started - or to catch up on the first season and a half, and jump-in where we're at right now. Things are getting good as the timeline inches closer to what we'll end up seeing in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY later this year, and in a more familiar form, where the story began in 1977's STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE. In next week's episode, "Shroud of Darkness," Jedi Master Yoda returns, as does Darth Vader. Take a look at the latest preview below, and hit my Facebook for all the latest stills from the new episode!

It was roughly 4 minutes and 33 seconds into 1977's STAR WARS (before we knew it as "A NEW HOPE" or "EPISODE IV") that audiences first witnessed the cinematic debut of Darth Vader... Dark Lord of the Sith. He didn't even need to say a word, and audiences knew he was the biggest badass in the galaxy. By the next time we see him again just over a minute later, he's choking some guy, and then he just tosses him aside. Evil? Sure, but within a year or so, millions of kids (myself included) were running around dressed as Darth, and his original Kenner action figure from 1978 quickly became a sought-after item for backyard battles. In celebration of actor David Prowse's birthday, Darth Vader is today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar!

Fresh from STAR WARS CELEBRATION in Anaheim comes the second official teaser for J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. This is everything you've been waiting to see, and so much is hidden in just a two minute teaser. Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie? Yes, they're all here with so many nods to the past as we glimpse into the future. Watch this now...

When the Season One finale of STAR WARS REBELS - Fire Across the Galaxy aired Monday night, fans were treated to some big surprises. When we got to view it on the DVR at lunchtime on Tuesday, one thing was very clear - my little girls were quite pleased to see "another girl Jedi" saving the day. Having missed much of THE CLONE WARS (we'll catch up), they weren't familiar with Ahsoka Tano (voiced by Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein), and that doesn't matter. What does matter is that there's now a trio of powerful girls at the forefront of STAR WARS REBELS, with Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla and Ahsoka fighting the good fight. While we're still on the hunt for the elusive Sabine/Stormtrooper Mission Series two-pack, Hera is shipping soon packed with a "Stormtrooper Commander" (who we used to call a "Sandtrooper" back in the day), and now Ahsoka will be joining the 5POA (five points of articulation) action this fall. But she's not alone. In fact, she'll be packed with her former Master, the one who used to be called Anakin Skywalker before fully turning to the Dark Side and becoming Darth Vader...

It seems like STAR WARS REBELS just had its premiere, and here we are looking at the Season One Finale coming up this Monday night, March 2 at 9/8c on Disney XD. In FIRE ACROSS THE GALAXY, it looks like we'll be getting some classic Old Trilogy-style action, including a lightsaber battle between Kanan, Ezra and The Inquisitor, a fleet of Star Destroyers, and an appearance by Darth Vader himself! Since it's the first season finale, the episode will not be available to stream earlier (if it was, I'd be watching it already), but I do have a preview to share with you below. The Force is strong with this one...
