After selling more than 15 million pints of TROOPER since its launch in 2013, IRON MAIDEN and ROBINSONS BREWERY kept things moving with the limited edition TROOPER 666  and RED 'N' BLACK beers (all of which I still have in my office fridge here at Rock Father HQ!). Now comes word that their fourth brew is on the way this fall, and it's a Belgian style beer: HALLOWED.

As I sit here in my office at Rock Father HQ, there's a few bottles of Robinson's Iron Maiden Trooper Beer - regular, the sold-out "Trooper 666," and the new "Red 'N' Black" Porter (which I haven't tried yet) in the cooler nearby. Is it wrong to want a sip at 8:30am? That's sorta where I'm at right now as news just hit my inbox that IRON MAIDEN is bringing The Book Of Souls World Tour back to North America for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows in summer 2017. After kicking off a string of 14 sold-out shows in the U.S. and Canada last February, the tour spawned a further 58 concerts in 34 other countries around the globe. Now, the tour returns - and with one of my favorite current bands in direct support: GHOST.

Earlier this month, metal legends IRON MAIDEN unleashed the music video for their new single, "Speed of Light." Taken from their forthcoming album, THE BOOK OF SOULS, the video is pure 80s glory - the type of video you would've seen on MTV's HEADBANGERS BALL during the midnight hour. In the video, IRON MAIDEN's mascot Eddie is seen in 8-bit form - the subject of a Nintendo-style video game. As of today, you can actually play that game online! It's a little DONKEY KONG-esque, with Eddie racing to rescue a woman from the top of a building. I made it to level four (you only get one life), but maybe you can do better?

Somewhere deep in the heart of Finland, STEVE "N" SEAGULLS is likely in a barn, hard-at-work on their next great folk-fueled metal cover. Having just completed the "hillbillification" of over a dozen classics from the likes of PANTERA, DIO, AC/DC and GUNS 'N ROSES, the band has been getting into the video realm pretty hard - the latest arriving this week in the form of "Run to the Hills." Indeed, the legendary IRON MAIDEN cut can be heard below... and seen... performed in a barn. There's also at least one reindeer pulling a sleigh. I think it might be Sven from FROZEN...

IRON MAIDEN have long been doing well on the cross-branded merchandise, but as recent forays into everything from beer to airlines has shown, there is no limit to the might that can come from the 'Maiden. Today comes news out of CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas that the legendary band has teamed with ONKYO for a new project called MAIDEN AUDIO. With a booth that's decked out complete with a large-scale statue of band mascot Eddie (holding a blaster and wearing Iron Maiden headphones) housed within the Gibson Guitars tent, it's a true teaser of a launch.
