I haven't played an old-school ''fighting'' game in years, but this makes me wanna get going on that again. Personally, I've always been more of a STREET FIGHTER guy myself, but this audio/visual mashup from British electronic duo ADDICTIVE TV finds the pair doing battle against both STREET FIGHTER and TEKKEN inhabitants. Something interesting to start your Monday off? Perhaps...
About a month or so ago, while perusing Facebook and probably posting The Rock Father™ propaganda wherever appropriate, a message appeared to my attention from a gentleman named Crusty Booger. Little did the moisture-devoid poster know, but I was already somewhat aware of his rock prowess. Somewhere deep within the depths of Berwyn, Illinois - home to Horrorbles, Svengoolie, and the late Spire (a stack of impaled cars) is THE BOOGER PLANT - the sonic batcave of THE BOOGERS, purveyors of kid-friendly punk rock jams.
Last November, the folks at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star blasted into outer space with a collection of songs inspired by the worlds of Science Fiction and Fantasy. SCI-FI LULLABY (available now on iTunes) is a 15-track set of famous themes re-worked for the infant crowd, perfect for introducing your favorite fandom to the smallest member of your family.
This Tuesday, Rockabye Baby! will release their LULLABY RENDITIONS OF DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, and if you'd like a little taste for free, we'll you're in luck! The label is offering a FREE DOWNLOAD of Satellite, which you can snag via the TopSpin widget below. Enter your email, and a nursery-style version of the DMB hit will arrive momentarily.
If you've ever had the urge to eat GREEN EGGS AND HAM, you're sort of in luck. While they're not literally as green as those featured in the famous 1960 book by DR. SEUSS, IHOP is serving up their take on the famous dish as a cross-promotion for the new big-screen version of THE LORAX. The ham isn't actually green at all, but the eggs are scrambled with creamed spinach included. That's not all, as they've got some other Seuss-inspired menu items this week.
Impressive is just one word to describe the sonic display of talent that you're about to witness in the videos below. The drumming prowess of YouTube user bugyean was brought to my attention this afternoon by Dirge Within guitarist Shaun Glass, who forwarded me a video of bugyean aka Noppakun Trirojporn of Sisaket, Thailand absolutely throwing down with a drum cover of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's Beast and the Harlot - playing with his daughter Zoe on his arm, while playing the entire song one-armed - DEF LEPPARD style. But that's not all... this guy does a SLIPKNOT medley, takes on DREAM THEATER, LAMB OF GOD, and a whole lot more in his IKEA furnished studio area. Check this out...
