I've written so many articles in the past year and a half where I've referenced things that I saw at the D23 Expo in Anaheim back in the summer of 2017 that I've lost count. But the BIG one - the one that everyone was talking about - was the "circle of life" teaser that filmmaker Jon Favreau presented from his reimagining of THE LION KING. In one sense it's the latest in the string of live-action updates to the classic Disney animated film catalog, but how do you call something "live-action" when everything on screen is a digital creation? It's astonishing how far we've come, and if you thought The Jungle Book was spectacular, just wait until you see what's embedded below... the very first teaser for Disney's THE LION KING.
In Walt Disney Animation Studios' Ralph Breaks the Internet, the Oh My Disney Princess scene (which I went behind-the-scenes of here) is one buzzed-about moment that's had people talking for months (SPOILER ALERT: The Disney Princesses are rather important in the grand scheme of things). Of course, many kids (and some grownups) have left the theater with a desire to own the Disney Princesses, and from Funko's Rock Candy line comes a collection of must-have vinyl figures that are going to be pretty well-wished-for this holiday season. Seven of them can be ordered via my friends at Entertainment Earth, while some of the others are retail exclusives to Target and others. Check this out...
When it comes to holiday specials, Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas has always ranked among my favorites - one that I'd eagerly await seeing each year when HBO would get around to airing it again... those primitive years before home video really caught on. Despite numerous releases on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray over the years, the soundtrack never got a proper release, and that's left fans like myself a little bit bummed. Paul Williams is a legend, having penned the Academy Award-nominated song "Rainbow Connection" from The Muppet Movie, "Evergreen" from A Star Is Born and many other #1 hits (he was also Little Enos in Smokey and the Bandit) and his music from Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas has been fueling singalongs for over 40 years. Now, just in time for the 2018 holiday season, the world premiere release of the soundtrack has finally taken place and Varèse Sarabande Records and The Rock Father™ have teamed-up to give you a chance to win the all-new CD!
GreenLight Collectibles has been expanding in recent years, locking-down new licenses as they continually roll out new, authentic diecast vehicle replicas. Now they've inked a deal with Turtle Wax to develop a new line of collectibles ahead of the brand’s 75th anniversary celebration.
Nobody puts these Pops in a corner! That's right, straight from Kellerman's Resort in the Catskill Mountains comes the Funko Dirty Dancing Baby Pop! Vinyl Figure #696 and Dirty Dancing Johnny Pop! Vinyl Figure #697! The best dancers of 1987 are now available for pre-order from my friends at Entertainment Earth. Long before Dancing With the Stars, there was Dirty Dancing - a film that inspired countless mishaps while trying to duplicate that epic lift in which Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) carried Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) on the dance floor in front of a packed house.

With Walt Disney Animation Studios' Ralph Breaks the Internet now in theaters, it's time to take a look at what will no-doubt be some very wished-for items that kids will be looking for this holiday season. I'm talking of course, about the toys - and from Bandai America comes a full assortment of fantastic toys featuring Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz and many of their on-screen friends. As I began putting this feature together, my friends at Entertainment Earth sent over the Wave One Action Figures and the Slaughter Race Vehicle for some hands-on time in The Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father™ HQ. All official Holiday Wish Guide™ picks, let's take a look at those and more!
