Giveaway: Win a FIONA THE HIPPO Prize Pack!

Presented in collaboration with Zonderkidz...

In life, we all have to overcome some big challenges at some point... and for many those battles start at birth. And not just for humans, but animals too. Last year, Fiona the Hippo became an internet sensation, a hippopotamus born prematurely at only 29 pounds. In theory, she wasn't expected to live - but she did, and her attitude captured the hearts of the masses in a story chronicled via YouTube and Facebook as the star of The Fiona Show. This summer, Fiona celebrated her first birthday, and along with that milestone comes a new children's book, appropriately titled Fiona the Hippo. From New York Times bestselling artist Richard Cowdrey of Bad Dog, Marley fame, the book is published by Zonderkidz in partnership with The Cincinnati Zoo, and now you can win a copy - complete with a Fiona plush and sippy cup - right here on The Rock Father™ Magazine!

At Toy Fair in New York this past February, one of the interesting things spotted in Funko's massive booth was their line of Savage World action figures. These 5.5" figures are familiar in shape and stature to anyone who played with Masters of the Universe toys back in the 80s, or the REMCO toys that "borrowed" the distinct body style of Mattel's more famous collection. Among the prototypes were some familiar characters that were being sculpted in the style of perhaps their greatest enemies of the era... former competitors in the action figure aisle. Thundercats have been officially brought into the Savage World, and if the He-Man influence isn't obvious enough, just check out the environment being used to display these figures - that's a tweaked and re-painted Evil Horde Fright Zone playset (which I used to have!)... a lair that used to be home to Hordak! The first wave is coming, and my affiliates at Entertainment Earth have the figures available for pre-order...

If you're like me and have always wanted to own a Hollywood-inspired "star car," a chance to do so is on the way. Volo Auto Museum in Illinois is clearing out their storage vault to raise money and create room for their forthcoming Punishment and Crime Museum, set to open in 2019. The auction will be held via eBay beginning on September 19, 2018. Those who visit Volo often know it to be a museum where the collection is ever-changing, and sometimes that means some surprises will come up for sale... and when they do, it's because the museum is getting ready to buy. Among the items headed to auction this September are screen-used vehicles from Furious 7, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ant-Man & The Wasp, American Gangster, Tucker: A Man and His Dream and more, along with replica vehicles based on famous rides from Scooby-Doo, Mad Max, Knight Rider and Back to the Future.
