Gwen Stefani's Rockin' the Pet Store with Harajuku Lovers at Petco
Gwen Stefani has been pretty busy lately. I recently caught THE VOICE judge fronting NO DOUBT for a fantastic set at Chicago's RIOT FEST, where she made her love of our local pizza very clear - stating that she "had some sent home" (hopefully Blake Shelton got to share). Of her many endeavors, her Harajuku Lovers collection of fashion and fragrances has been a successful one, and we really loved her Harajuku Mini line of kids fashion when it was a Target exclusive a few years back. Now, Harajuku Lovers is coming to PetCo as a line of colorful fashions and accessories for dogs.
Watch: THE VOICE gets a parody from SPROUT in "THE SQUEAK"
PBS Kids' Sprout is hands-down, the #1 network for regular viewing here in The Rock Father household. My three-year-old demands it, and if Caillou and Sesame Street weren't enough, The Goodnight Show and The Sunny Side Up Show bookend the day with programming goodness. As for the latter, Chica is the star attraction, and this Fall she's getting her own show. As a tease, Sprout has released a parody of NBC's THE VOICE in which Chica and friends face some tough judges. Get ready for THE SQUEAK...
MAROON 5 - SONGS ABOUT JANE 10th Anniversary Edition (Album Review)
Has it been 10 years already? It's hard to imagine, but I guess it has. When MAROON 5 first burst onto the scene with their debut album, SONGS ABOUT JANE in 2002, I was managing a Sam Goody store and was at the forefront of the musical battlefield, introducing the masses to new sounds on a weekly basis. In-between the punk rock and heavy music that so often could be heard blaring from the store (much to the dismay of the Dress Barn across the hall), we spun some pop - but only what we dug. MAROON 5 fit the bill.
MAROON 5 gets the Lullaby Treatment on the 10th Anniversary of SONGS ABOUT JANE...
Today's not only the day that MAROON 5 sees the release of their SONGS ABOUT JANE 10th Anniversary Edition (get it now on iTunes), but it's also the day that they get paid tribute via Lullaby. The folks over at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star just sent over details on LULLABY VERSIONS OF MAROON 5 (now on iTunes), a collection of 12 ''lush instrumental versions'' of popular tracks from the band, perfect for baby's nursery, or just for relaxation for Mom and Dad. This collection doesn't just mine the past, it's got lullaby versions of "Payphone" and "Come to the Water" from the HUNGER GAMES as well. Tracklisting below...
