Fronted by the duo of opera singer Brandi Sidoryk and bassoonist Krista Wodelet, SIDNEY YORK is the band behind the catchy, whistle-riffic "Dick & Jane" that's been featured in the Daily's ad campaign. I dug the performance (during which I was pegged as the "token man" by Wodelet), it's indie rock goodness infused with everything from fuzzy bass to french horn, ukulele, and synth. I ended up buying a copy of their 2011 album, APOCALYPTIC RADIO CYNIC (Amazon | iTunes), and while I might be featuring the band in my "For Grownups" section, my little Rock Daughters love it, too.

Now comes word that SIDNEY YORK is prepping the release of their new album, <3s (Hearts), which, like the new BLUE STAHLI record, is being released in volumes over the course of time. <3s will be released two songs at a time, both digitally and on 7" vinyl. If you'd like a tiny preview, head over to Amazon where you can stream clips of the first two tracks, "Hearts" and "Electrolove," both of which will be available starting January 14th as <3s Vol. 1.
