If you're like me and old enough to have lived in an era where the residents of McDonaldland were present not only in select McDonald's restaurants, but also on television regularly - you probably have memories of them that are either fond, creepy or both. I fall into the latter category of loving the characters, yet finding them totally bizarre and somewhat wrong. Is it possible that Mayor McCheese strapped on a guitar to become SLAYER McCHEESE - guitarist for a BLACK SABBATH cover band? What if Ronald McDonald became Ronald Osbourne and shifted the Sabbath lyrics to be fast food-themed? Well, my friends, it happened - and MAC SABBATH has been popping up in my social feeds frequently over the past few years, though I never expected to receive a press release noting that they're going on tour. Check out the dates and setlist below!

PSYCHOSTICK are pretty notorious when it comes to the realm of comedic metal. Strange thing is, they've also crossed-over into the realm of slightly dated, yet completely classic educational programming in recent times, and the start was their cover of the READING RAINBOW theme early last year. Now they're back with a cover of the theme song from BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY, and I can only wonder if it was fueled by the fact that the series recently made its debut on Netflix. In fact, I mentioned it in last month's #StreamTeam column, and I have a feeling that the gents from PSYCHOSTICK have been doing a little binge-watching. Crank this one up...

Somewhere deep in the heart of Finland, STEVE "N" SEAGULLS is likely in a barn, hard-at-work on their next great folk-fueled metal cover. Having just completed the "hillbillification" of over a dozen classics from the likes of PANTERA, DIO, AC/DC and GUNS 'N ROSES, the band has been getting into the video realm pretty hard - the latest arriving this week in the form of "Run to the Hills." Indeed, the legendary IRON MAIDEN cut can be heard below... and seen... performed in a barn. There's also at least one reindeer pulling a sleigh. I think it might be Sven from FROZEN...

While STAR WARS Day is officially over, a lot of people like to carry things into May 5th each year by switching "May the Fourth Be With You" into "Revenge of the Fifth," so let's roll with that for a second. My boys from PRODUCT OF HATE (NAPALM Records) recently wrapped their first North American Tour, which found them on the road with ALLEGAEON (Metal Blade). Since the tour wrapped, ALLEGAEON guitarist Greg Burgess has been posting some pretty impressive one-take videos on Facebook, and yesterday's found him celebrating STAR WARS Day with a full suite of John Williams' famous score pieces performed on classical acoustic guitar. There's the "STAR WARS Main Title (Theme)," "Binary Sunset," "Cantina Band," "Imperial March," "Parade of the Ewoks," and the "Throne Room/End Title" in there. Check it out..

There's a lot of different flavors coming forth in the family music realm this days, and it's those genre shifts that tend to make the Kindie world a little more interesting. I really dug JAZZY ASH's HOME last year, and now she's gearing-up to release another set of New Orleans-inspired goodness with the release of BON VOYAGE this July. The first single is out now, and it's a cover of "Heebie Jeebies," the LOUIS ARMSTRONG classic that is widely credited as "the birth of vocal scatting." Check out the video below, and if you dig it, head over to PledgeMusic to pre-order a copy of the new record.

While this one's been out since last year, I've never featured CRYSTAL LAKE's cover of LIMP BIZKIT's "Rollin'" here on the site, so it's time. The Japanese band reworked the 2000 single from Fred Durst and Co for their 2014 CUBES EP, and the results are pretty entertaining... if you were a fan of the original track, as was I. Check this one out below to kick off your week...
