MUPPETS MOST WANTED hit theaters this weekend, and from what I'm hearing, failed to heat up the box office, bringing in just $16.5M compared to the nearly $30M opening weekend for THE MUPPETS a few years back. Despite my deep, deep love for The Muppets, I have not made it out with Addie to see the new film just yet, and maybe that's the case with a lot of parents. Or maybe it's that on the surface (or perhaps deeper), MUPPETS MOST WANTED suffers from what many Muppets projects have in recent years - a lack of originality that finds the group always trying to save a theater or have a caper. It's a cycle that needs to be broken, and certainly CAN be broken if The Walt Disney Company puts the right creative team in place going forward. $16M is a disappointing haul for Kermit and the gang, and that's a shame. But I digress, I'm here to share with you the new music video from the MUPPETS MOST WANTED Soundtrack, "I'll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu)," performed by Oscar-winner Bret McKenzie.

And here I thought I was done covering FROZEN for a bit, with the Blu-ray having been released (and reviewed by me) and all...

Not so, as Walt Disney Music started servicing new remixes of Idina Menzel's "Let it Go" to clubs yesterday (consumer release TBA), but RIGHT NOW I've got all six of them for you to hear on THE ROCK FATHER. Below, you can check out two versions each from Dave Aude, Papercha$er, and DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, courtesy of Hollywood Records. Doing any clubbing tonight?

Just a short while ago on THE TONIGHT SHOW, Jimmy Fallon & The Roots were joined by Idina Menzel to perform the Academy Award-winning song "Let It Go" from Disney's FROZEN... on classroom instruments. The complete song, done in a manner far more loose and entertaining than the Oscars version (and without John Travolta being an idiot), can be heard below...

It's a known fact that there are currently 6,600,666,007 cover versions of "Let it Go" on YouTube. IDINA MENZEL may have the definitive version of the showstopping number from Disney's FROZEN (and yes, DEMI LOVATO did one, too), but I guarantee that this one is different. You have not seen or heard "Let it Go" done like this before. Orlando band, THE LAST SLEEPLESS CITY has unleashed a pop-punk version of the song (download now on Amazon or iTunes), complete with an accompanying music video. It's perfect, and even got the seal of approval from 4-year-old Addie - who first questioned "Why is a boy singing this?" Check it out...

Fact: There's a JANIS JOPLIN concert poster in my office... one from a show in 1968 that took place at the Fillmore East in New York City. But, it's not actually mine... it's my wife's, as she's the big Janis fan. Now I need to tell her about this - A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN: The Original Broadway Cast Recording, a new collection of 19 songs that showcase Mary Bridget Davies' eerily-accurate performance as Janis, and also includes songs by Joplin's musical influences including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith. The album was released digitally today (aff: iTunes | Amazon), with CDs available on February 11. Check out the full details below...
