sogcrewIt's not every day that I get an email about a FREE DOWNLOAD being offered by a Candidate for Governor of the State of California. Those odds are even slimmer when we're talking about a hip-hop artist, but that's exactly what happened today. Dr. Robert ‘Battle Ax’ Ornelas of the S.O.G. Crew made headlines last year as the first Latin American to make a run for Vice President, and he's already announced a 2014 run for the top spot in Cali. Crew is serving up an unmastered version of "No More War," produced by T-Nut, of The Pricks Nuthouse Studios (Eastsiders, Snoop Dogg) and mixed by Jeff Gibbs (Bone Thugs, 3-6-Mafia, The Game). Check it out...

Listen: SKINDRED - "Ninja" #KillThePower

I dig SKINDRED. Actually, I've dug frontman Benji Webbe going back to DUB WAR (I still have my original PAIN CD that came out on Earache in the mid 90s), and SKINDRED's TASTE OF CHAOS Christmas release, "Jungle Bells" is a seasonal staple here at Rock Father HQ. Now, SKINDRED is prepping to release a new album called KILL THE POWER, and I'm looking forward to it. When will it come out? Only they know for sure... but they've unleashed the "Ninja" with a brand-new track that you can stream below. Give it a listen and let me know what you think...

Pre-orders just went live on iTunes, and those that get their order in now will receive an immediate download of "Sober," which can also be streamed below... right here on The Rock Father. It sounds haunting... perfect for your baby's nursery, or for kicking back while sipping a glass of Maynard James Keenan's Wine and just chilling out.
