I was just over on Facebook updating The Rock Father page (which really, you should be "liking" - so go "like" it!), and I happen to check out the latest update on Out With the Kids' page, and Jeff over there had some cool news that I hadn't seen yet: Morgan Taylor (the man behind GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD) and fellow children's performer Todd McHatton have formed a new group, the UNDERBIRDS. The new kindie-rock collabo will see a full-length release this April, but in the meantime, check out the first track to be unleashed, "Brilliance"...

localhcoverAfter debuting their new video for "Another February" last week (see it here), LOCAL H have released their new EP of the same name. "Closer" is one of my least favorite NINE INCH NAILS songs. I love some NIN, and I saw 'em live way back in '94 when they toured with MARILYN MANSON and THE JIM ROSE CIRCUS. That song, though? Never grabbed me. Now, Los Angeles-based STARS IN STEREO have given the song a shot of rock with a new cover that was unleashed this week. Hear it below.

If you're visiting The Rock Father, there's a solid chance that you're a rocker... but are you an EARTH ROCKER? That's the title of the new album from CLUTCH (due out March 2013 via Weathermaker Music), and the title track has now been unleashed via Brooklyn Vegan. The track hit the web today alongside a new interview with guitarist Tim Sult.

SEVEN DAY SONNET are a local band in the area of Rock Father HQ, and today comes news that the Chicago rockers might be getting ready to hang it up for good.  An email landed here with a link to "Crying My Name," the newest and "possibly last single" from the band. Recorded with Johnny K (DISTURBED, DROWNING POOL, MEGADETH) at Groovemasters studio,  the song can be streamed below or purchased from iTunes.
