Multi-Grammy nominated thrash icons Anthrax will see the band's long-awaited live-in-concert DVD, "Kings Among Scotland," released on April 27 (Megaforce). But before that, the band's Charlie Benante has just posted a video clip where he talks about the filming of the live set, the decision to film in Scotland, and the challenge of playing some of the songs live for the first time ever. After just announcing that they're releasing a limited-edition Wardance Craft Beer through New York's Butternuts Brewery, now comes news that Anthrax will release a limited edition For All Kings 7" Vinyl Box Set. Available exclusively in North America and released in conjunction with the band's upcoming Spring co-headline tour with Killswitch Engage, the set goes on sale March 24 and will retail for $79.99. ANTHRAX is closing out the week with the surprise release of the first single and lyric video from their forthcoming new album. "Evil Twin" (available now on Amazon & iTunes) takes on the political and religious extremism of recent years, an old-school throwback that comes off as a thematic companion to songs such as Megadeth's "Holy Wars."

Ever since Woodstock '94, visions of mud-fueled mayhem have gone hand-in-hand with summer music festivals in America. In Chicago, that hasn't been far-off these past couple of years, as soggy weather has made for some challenging festival-going, turning once lush green grass into foot-deep bogs of sticky slop. As Chicago's Riot Fest & Carnival got underway in its new home at Douglas Park yesterday, the scene was much like last year on the weather front, though thankfully the skies opened early enough in the day that concertgoers were able to enjoy most of the festivities rain-free... despite the muck underfoot. Families were out in full-force for Riot Fest, with new generations experiencing some of their parents' favorite bands, likely for the very first time.

I have to say, since BORDERS went out of business, I have not seen a copy of UK-based METAL HAMMER on the racks anywhere near me. That said, there's a reason why METAL HAMMER is one of the last print mags standing, and they continue to show that every month. For METAL HAMMER 253, their February 2014 issue, they've taken things into STAR WARS territory, with the entire issue taking inspiration from a galaxy far, far away, starting off with a cover by SIXMOREVODKA (said to have the "blessing of LUCASFILM).
