Coming off an epic World Premiere for the film this week, WaterTower Music is making a splash with the release of the AQUAMAN - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. From director James Wan comes a new adventure based on the iconic character from the pages of DC Comics, one that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. Aquaman features an original score by multi-award-winning composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Hotel Rwanda, Hacksaw Ridge), includes a track by composer Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle) and debuts the new songs Ocean To Ocean” by Pitbull Feat. Rhea (a riff on Toto's oft-covered "Africa"), and the end title song “Everything I Need” by Skylar Grey.

After years of mixed reactions and conflicting opinions between fans and critics, Warner Bros. finds themselves in an interesting spot with their DC Extended Universe of films. Now, as it appears that we're in for a potential switch in cast and tone from our most recent big-screen Batman and Superman, other members of the Justice League are still on-deck with solo films of their own, and Aquaman is next in line. From director James Wan (SAW), AQUAMAN is shaping up to be a very different film from others in its universe - an epic that's bigger than many would've expected from a character that's often been the brunt of jokes across the decades. Yes, he can talk to fish... but Aquaman is looking quite badass, and Warner. Bros is counting on audiences to get behind the character, today issuing an extended, five-minute preview of the film. Check it out below!

We seem to have entered an era where drastic production changes amidst unusual circumstances are becoming commonplace, and the fall's JUSTICE LEAGUE is no exception. With Zack Synder stepping aside to tend to family matters, Joss Whedon is at the helm, and today comes a new look at some iconic heroes as they get ready to fight a major battle. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are all here... and did we just get our first hint that Superman returns? Take a look...

After a San Diego Comic-Con sneak-preview last summer, the first official trailer for Warner Bros' JUSTICE LEAGUE is finally here. This long-awaited installment of the DC Extended Universe will arrive in theaters this November, uniting Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller), and while he's absent from this trailer and the marketing, you can bet we see a rebirth of Superman (Henry Cavill) at some point. After all, while he was sacrificed at the end of last year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the familiar "S" is present on the film's official website, and it's long-been known that Kal-El never stays down for long. Check out the trailer below...

There was a question posited many years ago, back when Jack Nicholson was the first actor to play The Joker in a modern cinematic Batman film... "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" He was speaking, of course, of Batman's impressive arsenal of gadgets and weaponry, all shown in-action as tools of Michael Keaton's portrayal of The Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's 1989 film. While Zack Snyder's current BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is divisive (I loved it - read my review here), one point that I always feel is important to note is that what makes these DC Comics characters truly timeless and classic is that they work in many different incarnations across many different media. While it's my opinion that BVS is not a movie for small children (it's a harder-edged PG-13), that hardly means that kids are left out - quite the contrary when it comes to the wide assortment of toys that are available. Leading the charge this year is Mattel, who have brought Batman and Superman back into toy aisles in a massive form, and at the centerpiece of their BVS line is the collection of 6" action figures and vehicles, several of which were sent to Rock Father HQ for review. Over the past month, something has become quite clear - and that's that The Rock Daughters have incorporated these new versions of these iconic characters into part of every day imaginative play - something massively important... old-school, hands-on, tech-free fun!

On April 16 (this Tuesday), Warner Bros. and Netherworld Games will release INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US, an epic fighting game set in the world of DC Comics. I've previously covered the game here on The Rock Father, and now comes news that Watertower Music will be releasing INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US - THE ALBUM (pre-order on iTunes), a companion to the game and it's original cinematic score (also up for pre-order on iTunes), available on launch day. Featuring tracks from AWOLNATION, RISE AGAINST, DEPECHE MODE, and more, full details on the record can be viewed below, complete with preview tracks...
