Could Harmonix really be releasing the "next-gen" version of ROCK BAND this year? Rumors have been swirling since last fall that ROCK BAND 4 (though that may not be the title) is in-the-works, and last week it appeared that the waters were being tested when the ROCK BAND Music Store on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 "sprung to life" after nearly two years of dormancy following the final DLC release back in April of 2013 (which I wrote about here). New tracks from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and ARCTIC MONKEYS arrived for ROCK BAND alongside FOO FIGHTERS' "Something From Nothing" (aka the "Chicago" song from SONIC HIGHWAYS), presented in the classic vocals/guitar/bass/drums format of earlier releases. So the question is... do YOU want a new ROCK BAND game? And if so, would you make your voice heard?

I first told you that AVENGED SEVENFOLD would be getting the lullaby treatment last month, and today is they day that it finally happens. The folks over at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star have just released LULLABY VERSIONS OF AVENGED SEVENFOLD, a collection of 12 A7X favorites reworked into "lush instrumental versions" perfect for rocking the nursery... gently. Check out the full tracklisting and cover art below...

If you're raising a little rocker, the folks over at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star have two upcoming collections that you're likely to be interested in. In fact, while I've covered their line of lullabies extensively in the past, The Rock Father is highly excited for their lullaby tributes to the DEFTONES and AVENGED SEVENFOLD. Like all of their releases, TTLRS has transformed a collection of hits and fan favorites from each band into "lush instrumental versions" perfect for gently rocking your babies' nursery. Check out the tracklistings and cover art below!

The next installment of the ROCK BAND franchise is totally different, and it's arriving next month in the form of ROCK BAND BLITZ. First announced on The Rock Father this past April, the game requires no special accessories or peripherals, and is playable with your regular controller. ROCK BAND BLITZ arrives on PlayStation® Network on August 28th for $14.99 and to Xbox LIVE® Arcade on August 29th for 1200 Microsoft Points™. More tracks were just announced, and the complete listing can be found below alongside the latest developer video.

Impressive is just one word to describe the sonic display of talent that you're about to witness in the videos below. The drumming prowess of YouTube user bugyean was brought to my attention this afternoon by Dirge Within guitarist Shaun Glass, who forwarded me a video of bugyean aka Noppakun Trirojporn of Sisaket, Thailand absolutely throwing down with a drum cover of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's Beast and the Harlot - playing with his daughter Zoe on his arm, while playing the entire song one-armed - DEF LEPPARD style. But that's not all... this guy does a SLIPKNOT medley, takes on DREAM THEATER, LAMB OF GOD, and a whole lot more in his IKEA furnished studio area. Check this out...
