September 17, 2016 has been declared to be the third-annual "Batman Day" by the folks at DC Comics - a 24-hour celebration of all-things Batman. One of the interesting things about the character is that it works in so many forms - from the colorful camp of The Caped Crusaders of the 1960s, to the ominous tones of Alan Moore's THE KILLING JOKE or Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, there's many shades of grey and black. Zack Snyder's BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE introduced a new version of the character - one familiar, but still like nothing previously seen in live-action... a real brawler. We'd soon find out that Ben Affleck's Batman had faced-off against Jared Leto's Joker (seen in David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD), but as a hypothetical - what if The Joker had the upper hand? My friends at Entertainment Earth recently served-up their SDCC Exclusive Batman v. Superman: The Joker's Wild Batman 19" Big Figs Action Figure by JAKKS Pacific at San Diego Comic-Con International, but with a few left (one of which they sent to Rock Father HQ), we decided that teaming-up for a Batman Day Giveaway was the way to go! One lucky reader of THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine will score this fantastic figure (a $60 value)! Enter below...

With MARVEL's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR coming home on Digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray, it's time to take a look at one of the more recent toys to spawn from the film - the MARVEL Legends 3-Pack featuring Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-man. Crafted by Hasbro and sent to us for review by my allies at Entertainment Earth, this set marks the world action figure debut of Tom Holland's Spider-man, a character that finally entered the MARVEL Cinematic Universe this year, soon to be seen in next summer's SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Take a look at the video below for a hands-on look at this set, right here in the Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ™.

Are you ready to meet the "diverse range of interesting dudes" that Entertainment Earth and Hasbro teased last night? If you guessed that the strange statement was code for DROIDS, you were correct! Coming this November, the STAR WARS: The Black Series Astromech Droids 3 3/4-Inch Action Figures – Entertainment Earth Exclusive is up for pre-order now, a celebration of the entire STAR WARS Saga, and the 10th Anniversary of Entertainment Earth's super-popular, sold-out 2006 Astromech Droid Sets. This sextet of Astromech Droids comes to you in a specially designed R2-D2-shaped box with 3 3/4-inch scale action figures. Each droid sports multiple points of articulation, similar to the collector-favorite figures of The Vintage Collection, with featured Droids being sourced from 1977's STAR WARS, 1983's RETURN OF THE JEDI and the recent animated series, THE CLONE WARS. Each figure includes rolling wheels on their feet, plus jointed domes, ankles, shoulders, and maybe even a few other surprises. Check out the details below, and pre-order now (while supplies last)!

A pair of tracks in the sand... Twin suns on the horizon... a Jawa Sandcrawler looming in the distance at sunset.  That's all we have to go with thus far for an exclusive boxed set of 3¾" STAR WARS action figures from Hasbro - the "super-articulated" variety that fans of THE VINTAGE COLLECTION and THE BLACK SERIES have been calling on Hasbro to do more of. Up for pre-order as an Entertainment Earth Exclusive, this set of six mystery figures promises five figures "that have never been made as toys." So what could they possibly be? It seems like we've got a definite Tatooine theme, but that just might be a ruse...

#GhostbustersWeek continues on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine...

For over thirty years, kids have been dressing up as Ghostbusters... for playtime, for Halloween, and now as grownups, sometimes the occasion strikes to still dress-up as a Ghostbuster. From Rubies comes a new line Grand Heritage Costumes that are on the higher-end for a more screen-accurate, realistic appearance. These are geared totally toward grownups, and are available from my allies over at Entertainment Earth. Whether you want the classic, 1984 look, or the modern 2016 look, they're available for men and women alike...

Something strange is going on here... perhaps a resurgence of THE A-TEAM, or just some savvy marketing of the NBC Universal television lineup of the mid 1980s? After the recent announcement that THE A-TEAM and KNIGHT RIDER are coming to LEGO Dimensions (could AIRWOLF be far behind?), Funko has revealed that the crack commando unit is getting the Pop! Vinyl treatment with B.A. Baracus, John "Hannibal" Smith, "Howling Mad" Murdock and Templeton "Faceman" Peck coming to the Pop! Television line in August, followed by THE A-TEAM VAN as a new addition to the Pop! Rides collection in September. All of these are available for pre-order now via my allies over at Entertainment Earth, and since I already have the Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment versions of the famed GMC Van and Face's Chevrolet Corvette in my office here at Rock Father HQ, I have to say that there is a temptation here...
