DCONSTRUCTEDToday, Walt Disney Records issued what is quite possibly one of the strangest, yet appropriately contemporary releases in their catalog. DCONSTRUCTED (available on Amazon & iTunes) finds Mickey Mouse and Friends going full-on EDM, with remixes of classic and modern Disney fare by artists such as AVICII, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, BT and more. Tonight, the video for THE MUPPET SHOW THEME as reimagined by SHY KIDX hit my inbox, and it is certainly something to behold. Not necessarily for the kids, it's a rave-styled trip. In fact, it reminds me of a few weekends back in 1994-1995-ish, when I visited some underground raves in the Quad Cities. I had a funky hat.

Back in February, I had the opportunity to spend a few days visiting Walt Disney Animation Studios as part of the press tour for Disney's FROZEN. With something that's become so big that it's forever cemented it's place as a pop culture phenomenon, I'm fortunate and thankful to have been able to make such a hands-on connection with it and the folks behind it - if only for a short time. While I was out there, the folks at Disney hooked me up with some things... one of which stands out as something really unique. It's actually so unique - at least I think that it is - that I can't find any other pictures or reference to it online. I'd imagine the only other people that have these either worked on FROZEN, work for Disney, or were members of the media that were invited out to cover the film. Tonight, I'm giving all of YOU a chance to own it...

With the recent release of Walt Disney Animation Studios' Academy Award-winning mega-hit, FROZEN, on Blu-ray and DVD, you'd think that we'd be done talking about the land of Arendelle for a bit, unless there was some news about FROZEN 2, right? Well, not quite, as the spirit and music of this cultural phenomenon continues to inspire and evolve, and now the folks at Roma Music Group are prepping to pay tribute by re-working the now-iconic soundtrack for the youngest Olaf fans in your house. LULLABY VERSIONS OF FROZEN will hit Digital Retailers on April 29th, the latest release in the popular, and fast-growing Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star collection of pop culture lullabies. How does the lullaby version of "Let It Go" compare to the version made famous by Idina Menzel? Find out below...

And here I thought I was done covering FROZEN for a bit, with the Blu-ray having been released (and reviewed by me) and all...

Not so, as Walt Disney Music started servicing new remixes of Idina Menzel's "Let it Go" to clubs yesterday (consumer release TBA), but RIGHT NOW I've got all six of them for you to hear on THE ROCK FATHER. Below, you can check out two versions each from Dave Aude, Papercha$er, and DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, courtesy of Hollywood Records. Doing any clubbing tonight?

Today could be a record-breaker. After all, it's been less than four months since Walt Disney Animation Studios' FROZEN hit theater screens here in the U.S. (November 27, 2013), snowballing into a cinematic and cultural phenomenon that's racked up numerous awards along the way, the pinnacle of which was a win for "Best Animated Feature" at the 86th Academy Awards, not to mention snagging the "Best Original Song" Oscar for Idina Menzel's performance of "Let It Go" on the same night, just two weeks ago. With records claimed, I see no reason why that streak won't continue, and with FROZEN arriving at retail on Blu-ray and DVD today, something tells me that the records set in December by DESPICABLE ME 2 will be shattered.

There's a lot of people that visit THE ROCK FATHER that aren't aware of my pre-fatherhood past. I often say that I'm "an adventurer" of sorts, and over the course of time, I've been fortunate to have many adventures that have crossed-over into several different areas of media. Some of those adventures have been in the realms of film and television. Did you know that I once voiced Starscream from the TRANSFORMERS on TV? Sure did (scroll about 10 slots down). Or that I played a farmer in a movie that often shows up on cable in the UK? Guilty. But... what about that time that I did the voice of Olaf for Disney's Academy Award-winning picture, FROZEN? Yes, you are correct that the wonderful actor Josh Gad performed the voice of the lovable snowman in the film, but there was one day... a day not long ago... when I had to step into the recording booth, to lend my voice to Olaf, and even sing "In Summer."
