I've been thinking about this for awhile, but it wasn't until this morning that I was actually able to do it...
Using my daughter's Fisher-Price Record Player (repro model) and CD Player I've created a graphic detailing the rapid death of physical media (music in particular) as seen by toys. In the past, you could make records or CDs fun for a toddler... a digital file? Not so much.
I'm a man. And, I like Yankee Candles. Sure, they're pricey, but with the right scent they're totally worth it. That said, I was really surprised to learn that they'd launched a line of MAN CANDLES at some point in the recent past. Maybe it's silly, but the tought of 'Riding Mower' with the odor of ''Hot sun. Cool breeze. And the intensely summery scent of freshly cut grass.'' sounds very appealing.
This is kind of bizarre, but my toddler loves it... and I do mean, LOVES it. HOT PROBLEMS have released a video for Party With My Friends that features some creative editing from a galaxy far, far away. Yes, the STAR WARS saga provides the backdrop for this jam. The video can be seen below along with a couple of words from the press release that landed here at Rock Father HQ this morning.
Proving that nothing can ever happen entirely trouble-free, our Growums had a mishap this week. After doing quite well up until now, we were intending to wait maybe one more week until planting them in a raised garden bed here at Rock Father HQ. Everything was right on schedule when Carin the Carrot sent over an email alerting us that it's planting time, but with this weird weather, it just felt right to wait a little while longer. One of our dogs did not agree with this decision.
My daughter isn't old enough to really get into DORA THE EXPLORER, and in this case I'm glad. Cruising past the baby department at my local Super Walmart this evening, I took a closer look at something that's only been seen from the corner of my eye in the past: The Dora the Explorer Toddler Booster Car Seat. I find it highly disturbing that it appears a child is sitting on Dora, or that Dora is somehow assimilating toddlers like those aliens on the syndicated WAR OF THE WORLDS TV Show back in the late 80's.
Well, this is odd for a Thursday night. A press release just arrived here at Rock Father HQ announcing that PHILIP ANSELMO, the voice of PANTERA, DOWN, and SUPERJOINT RITUAL, has released a series of ringtones. There are instructions about how to get said tones, along with the warning that ''charges apply,'' yet there doesn't seem to be anywhere to hear audio previews, nor learn the price prior to purchase. This came from Anselmo's publicist, so it's legit - but lacking details. Here's the full press release below.
