I recently received an email from The Land of Nod announcing their new Fall collection (I'm really looking forward to Fall) but didn't delve into it until this afternoon. What item caught the eye of The Rock Father? A Boombox throw pillow. Not only is the pillow cool (though they inform you that 'Hall and Oates are not included'), they have coordinating bedding that features something else old-school: cassette tapes.
When the members of a band come from such groovalistic heavy rockers as CLUTCH, FU MANCHU, CKY, and FIREBALL MINISTRY, it's a safe bet that what they'll be creating something of quality - provided you're already a fan of the source artists. When the band in question is THE COMPANY BAND, you can bet that customer service is a high priority in the interest of providing listeners with a top product at a fair price. On their latest EP, PROS & CONS (out now on Weathermaker Music), THE COMPANY BAND proves that to be true.
Just days after I posted the first Halloween news for the 2012 season comes the first Christmas news for the year. Actually, it's only sorta the first, but we'll call it the 'first official' piece: acclaimed children's musician LAURIE BERKNER is releasing a Christmas album. Two Tomatoes Records/Razor & Tie will release A LAURIE BERKNER CHRISTMAS on October 30th, a new collection containing fifteen seasonal songs, three of which are original tracks: “Santa’s Coming To My House Tonight,” “Candy Cane Jane” and “Christmas Lights.”
On September 11, 2012, one of my favorite bands of the 1990's will see a reissue of their major-label debut on 180 Gram Vinyl. ShopRadioCast will handle the reissue of the 1993 QUICKSAND album, SLIP, in it's first pressing since the initial run 19 years ago. Check out the full details and tracklisting below.
