6am on a Sunday Morning and I hop on the evil site known as Facebook to check messages while the rest of the family sleeps. While checking out The Rock Father page (give me a 'LIKE'), a story from Cool Mom Picks crossed my feed announcing that a company called CITIZEN BRICK has started making custom (unauthorized) LEGO Minifigure-sized Babies. While that's cool and all, something else caught my eye over on the Citizen Brick site. This guy...

MAKE BELIEVERS is a massive record. As I mentioned a month or so ago when the album announcement was posted here on The Rock Father, the little one and I have been spinning the new album from SECRET AGENT 23 SKIDOO here at HQ for awhile now. It's another one of those special albums that warranted holding back the review until release date was almost upon us, simply because you need to remember to buy this. Why? Because I'll throw down some info in the first paragraph that you'd normally have to read on for: This is a 5-Star Record.

Recess Music has announced a July 31 release date for their latest compilation, SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES. The third installment of their 'Best Foot Forward' series of albums following BIG BULLY and U R SOME 1, this new release follows the 'course in manners' formula to encourage families to consider the thoughts and feelings of others.  Details on the artists included can be viewed below.

An email landed here at Rock Father HQ last night with a link to CANDLELIGHT RED's new video, 'She's Got the Look.' I figured if it wasn't some variation of the ROXETTE song, 'The Look,' I wouldn't post it. Luckily, it was a straight-up cover with a video shot in a warehouse controlled by the family of Stanley Kubrick. It's a pretty good cover, and you can check out the video below. Oh, complete sidenote: Bands, let's please stop using 'Candle,' 'Light,' and 'Red' in potential names. We've already got RED, REDLIGHT KING, CANDLELIGHT RECORDS, CANDLELIGHT RED, etc...

Old-School 'progressive-power-thrash' metallers SACRED OATH have released their career-spanning SPELLS AND INCANTATIONS: THE BEST OF SACRED OATH as an iTunes exclusive prior to the wide release in both physical and digital versions on May 29th.  To promote the release, a video for 'Blood Storm' has been created from archival materials and can be viewed below.

The Hub released a new preview for their upcoming CARE BEARS: WELCOME TO CARE-A-LOT this week, and it serves to solidify something that I've already noted on The Rock Father: Our family is really looking forward to the new show. Who's not excited? It seems that some followers of MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC are not down with the 'Bears.
