Have you ever wondered what would happen if Donald Trump, Kim Jong-un and Mike Tyson came together to form a band? No? Me neither, but the answer to the question that no one asked has been answered with NUCLEAR POWER TRIO! Featuring President Trump slappin' the bass with Supreme Leader Jong-un on guitar and Tyson punching the skins, their debut music video is out, and it's come with a message: "It's a song to promote world peace!" It just might be the weirdest thing you see today...

It wasn't long ago that we got our first-listen to the modern version of the classic DuckTales theme song, re-imagined for the 2017 series that's coming to Disney XD this summer. What a lot of DuckTales fans might not realize is that there was an extended version of the theme for the original series, one that added a full second verse that was seldom-heard back in the day. Keeping tradition alive, singer/songwriter Felicia Barton (Dancing with the Stars) has recorded an update of that as well, and it's now available as a digital single on iTunes, Amazon and more. Written by Mark C. Mueller, the new DuckTales theme song was produced by Emmy Award-winning Michael 'Smidi' Smith (Coldplay, Sia, Britney Spears) and composer Dominic Lewis ("Rough Night," "Fist Fight"). Check it out below!
"Remember that 'break' we were taking? Well... we lied." That's what Dave Grohl had to say this morning as news broke that FOO FIGHTERS will release a new album entitled Concrete and Gold on September 15th. In a letter posted on the band's official site, Grohl calls it a "gigantic rock record," and if the recent "surprise" single "Run" is an indicator, it will be. In fact, I think "Run" is one of the best songs of 2017, and it's the one that has officially turned The Rock Daughters™ (5 & 8) into full-fledged Foo Fighters fans.
If you're looking for something on the noisier side of the spectrum to kick off the week, check out "Seizure and Desist" - the new music video for the second single from the forthcoming self-titled debut from DEAD CROSS, which premiered via Loudwire. Along with the video comes the announcement that the band featuring Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer/Suicidal Tendencies), Justin Pearson (Retox/The Locust), Mike Patton (Faith No More/Tomahawk) and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer) will be joined on tour this summer by SECRET CHIEFS 3, featuring Patton's former Mr. Bungle guitarist, Trey Spruance.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is more than ripe for a remake at this point, right? Alright, maybe some things are just best left untouched - but a classic show with such a classic theme song just stays with us, and Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro will never escape the powerful force that is Bel-Air. While said theme has been covered many times over, I always appreciate a good cover, and when it comes from Leo Moracchioli of Frog Leap Studios, it's essentially guaranteed to be good... and metallic. Check out this rockin' version of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Theme Song" below!
Two months after revealing their resurrection and reformation, DIRGE WITHIN are ready to make new “Memories” with the release of their comeback single, available today on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other digital outlets. Originally featured on their 2012 album, "There Will Be Blood," the re-recorded single positions the band to pick up right where they left off prior to their five-year hiatus.
The following message was just-received into the news department at Rock Father HQ: "International Day of Slayer," the annual heavy metal holiday that celebrates the uncompromising, loud and defiant music of the iconic thrash/punk/metal band Slayer, is celebrating its 12th year today, 6/6/17. IDoS is the day where you stage a "Slay-out, Slay-in, Slay-on, Slay-off - don't go to school, don't go to work - but spend the day listening to Slayer at nuclear blast level in your car, your home, or in the public place of your choice. True Slayer devotees do NOT use headphones but crank the sound up as loud as possible so that EVERYONE within earshot can hear Slayer.
I've been championing Wisconsin's PRODUCT OF HATE since I first saw them live back in 2009. As many readers of this site know, my relationship with the PoH camp runs deep - I've directed/edited most of their music videos, and I co-manage the band. After touring with the likes of Mushroomhead, Allegaeon, Hammer Fight and The Agonist, PRODUCT OF HATE is back on the road in support of their Napalm Records debut, BURIED IN VIOLENCE. Starting with a 10-day East Coast run with SKINLAB and continuing across the U.S. as the 2017 Summer Annihilation Tour with IKILLYA (Urban Yeti), there's nearly 40 chances to catch PRODUCT OF HATE in a city near you!
It's been a pretty nostalgic week for a lot of reasons, and today has brought with it a few pieces of news that all seem to point firmly back to the mid 1990s. 311 provided a lot of soundtrack for those years, and on June 23rd, they'll release their latest album, MOSAIC, via BMG. Today comes a new music video, "Too Much To Think," which can be viewed below...
