When you pair my favorite vocalist of all-time, Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas) with one of my favorite drummers of all-time, Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Fantomas) I'm interested, and thus DEAD CROSS has been firmly on my radar. Today, the band which also features Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox) and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer) have announced their first North American tour dates.

FAITH NO MORE might be my favorite band of all-time, but from SOL INVICTUS, their first album in 18 years, it has been a tad bit disappointing that all of the "music videos" released thus far have all been culled from live performances that can mostly be found in their entirety on YouTube already. Today that's changed, with the release of "Sunny Side Up," a concept video by filmmaker JOE LYNCH. Now, the thing is... the band isn't actually in it, and the last time they did a video like that ("I Started A Joke"), they split. That better not happen this time around...

Starting a 51-day trek on Sept. 5, 2012 in Anchorage, Alaska, the tour wrapped up fifty-one days later, Oct. 25, in Honolulu, Hawaii. While their first record in 18 years, SOL INVICTUS, was released back in May, FAITH NO MORE have maintained a constant touring schedule and have not yet released a music video that's been filmed as "a music video." Instead, the band has been releasing performance footage, most recently "Superhero" earlier this month, and now FNM is back with "Sunny Side Up," taken from the same May 8th concert at Detroit's Fillmore Auditorium, video of which can be seen below. Additionally, FAITH NO MORE will be the musical guest on the September 3 installment of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! on ABC...

Last night, FAITH NO MORE made their first U.S. television appearance in nearly two decades, making their return with a triumphant performance of "Superhero" on LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON. It was an appropriate place to make a National return, with FNM making previous NBC appearances on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (1990, "Epic" and "From Out of Nowhere"), THE TONIGHT SHOW with JAY LENO (1993, "Midlife Crisis" and "Easy"), and  LATE NIGHT with CONAN O'BRIEN (1995, "Ricochet"), on which they even did a skit. Check out last night's appearance in the clips below, and look for FAITH NO MORE's SOL INVICTUS, in-stores next week!

This past Thursday night, I felt as if I were 15 again. My wife and I attended the sold-out FAITH NO MORE concert at Chicago's Concord Music Hall, where Riot Fest presented the return of FAITH NO MORE to the Windy City. For those of you that read this site regularly, you may already know that if not for my first-ever interview with FNM back in 1992 during the ANGEL DUST Tour, it's entirely possible that my life could've taken an entirely different path. Now, 18 years after their previous release, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, the band is back with SOL INVICTUS, their first effort since re-forming in 2009. Today, NPR is streaming the album in-full, one week ahead of it's May 19 release here in the United States. Check it out via the embedded player below...
