FANDANGOI wish I'd reviewed Doug Ellin's big-screen ENTOURAGE a week ago, if only because there needs to be at least somewhat of a counterbalance to the trendy pile-on of critics bashing the film for being exactly what it should be. It was last Monday that I (as a member of the Fandango Family Digital Network), along with three friends, headed into Chicago proper for an advance screening of the film at the Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON. As a quartet of fans that have been missing the EMMY-winning series (which ended its run on HBO in 2011), the cinematic tale played like a reunion of old friends, picking up a mere nine days from where we left off, unfolding like a feature-length episode of the show that we all held dear.

Two things I really love: STAR WARS and ENTOURAGE. Both have new movies in theaters later this year, and today comes a potentially-viral clip from the folks at Quiznos (yes, those purveyors of tasty subs that massively over-expanded in the Chicago market, and all but disappeared following the "Great Recession" and prior to their 2014 bankruptcy - I know too much about this stuff). The new short from Windowseat recalls a time when STAR WARS mashups were just coming into their own with "fan films" like AMERICAN JEDI or TROOPS. Check out STARTOURAGE: THE FOURSOME AWAKENS below, and let me know - does it make you want a sub? Toasty...

It's hard to believe, but this past summer marked the 10th anniversary of the premiere of ENTOURAGE on HBO. I was completely on-board from the first episode, and watching the show with friends became a weekly tradition. There were parallels to my own group of friends at the time, as I was in the midst of pursuing a career in film/tv, as were a couple others close to me - one of which was a rising actor. By the time the final season rolled around, I actually missed it and stayed completely spoiler-free until binge watching it earlier this year. Now, the first "official teaser" trailer for Warner Bros.' big-screen ENTOURAGE adventure has arrived, and it's reminded me just how sorely this show has been missed. Watch it below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...
