Mattel has been doing some really fun things with Hot Wheels lately, one of which are multiple series' of vehicles with themes rooted in pop culture history. Many of these are retailer exclusives that are offered as sort of a "one-and-done" thing - a big shipment arrives in one shot, and when they're gone, they're gone. For families and casual collectors, sometimes completing a full set is a challenge, as there tends to be one or two hard-to-find cars in the set. Recently, Hot Wheels issued a six-car, Tom & Jerry 75th Anniversary Series that was created to commemorate the MGM Cartoons that won Academy Awards from 1940-1957. I've recently acquired a set, and I'm giving all of you a chance to win it, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine!
Like my headline says, the first teaser for the latest 007 adventure is classic JAMES BOND. Daniel Craig's latest outing as Bond is SPECTRE, and the first-look at the new film has arrived courtesy of the folks at MGM. Watch it below, then share your thoughts on it. SPECTRE will be released theatrically on November 6, 2015.
In 1924, Marcus Loew founded MGM, ushering in the era of films preceded by the iconic "lion's roar." 2014 has been a celebration of the MGM 90th Anniversary with special releases, reissues and a full assortment of titles from the studios library, all on-sale in a special Amazon store. To close out 2014 and usher in 2015, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, MGM and THE ROCK FATHER are teaming-up to highlight some of the great family films that have been re-issued in special MGM 90th packaging - but that's not all! We're going to give you a chance to win a trio of these MGM Family Classics: THE SECRET OF NIMH, ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN and LEGALLY BLONDE!
As Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer (MGM) & Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment continue celebrating the 90th Anniversary of MGM, they've teamed with La Boca to create a new series of iconic posters commemorating the studio. The second in the series represents Sergio Leone's THE MAN WITH NO NAME TRILOGY, which was just reissued on Blu-ray with more than five hours of special features – plus a NEWLY REMASTERED version of THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. Check out the full poster below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...
You might not immediately associate this year's remake of the 1987 hit, ROBOCOP, with Fatherhood - but in a weird way, it's a movie with emotional elements completely tied to being a Dad. While I'll go into that in more detail in my formal review, what I can tell you is that Joel Kinnaman does a fine job of portraying a Father that's dealing with some extraordinary circumstances... but this is ROBOCOP, and it's also a fine action film that movie-minded Dads will dig. With that, my friends at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and I have teamed-up to bring you a giveaway for Rock Father's Day 2014. One of you will score the just-released Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD combo pack!
